Um... I'm sorry I haven't really been around lately. I don't know if any of you know Peeta or heard him tell people what's happening but I didn't want you to worry.

[She takes a breath] In my world there's something called The Hunger Games. Every year two kids, a boy and a girl, are picked from each District to go to an arena and fight. [She pauses] There's only one winner... another girl from the Games I was in got here, Clove. She's what we call a Career. They train for years for the Games and volunteer to go.

I don't want her to know I'm here... at least, not yet. I've been staying with friends. I miss all of you, though. How have you been?

[Though she's not about to announce her presence she still misses talking to people. She hesitates a moment before picking up a pencil and writing a question]

I heard from Peeta about everything ... if you want to get out and stretch a little, though, you should just say so. It'll be no problem for me to keep you safe~!

[a pause, looking at the written bit ...]

And my favorite is the white cosmos.

Quietly:] I cannot imagine such a world.

I see. [Somehow, Galadriel's "I see" is a still a more brutal condemnation of the Games than most in Rue's world would have dared, at least openly. One can almost imagine her lips pursed in disgust. Now she knows how the girl was injured, she supposes.]

She will hear nothing from me, I assure you. [A pause and her voice takes on a lighter tone.] I am quite fond elanor; it grows quite abundantly in Lórien.

[everything's been such a whirlwind of crazy, messed-up shite that he hasn't had a chance to check in on the little girl with the spear in her side. he'd heard from Carson that she got discharged into her friend's care, but that'd been the last he knew. so Murphy's relieved to hear her sounding well.

but then she describes home, and he feels his chest tighten] ... What kind've bastards'd even do that to kids like you?

[Across the room, Dairine is lounging in a beanbag chair she had wished up, reading one of her comic books. With Rue’s journal open, Dair’s making sure to stay extra quiet. She doesn’t want to give Rue’s current location away, filters or not.]

[Martel is quiet for a few moments, just letting that sink in. No wonder she was so injured and didn't want to fight at all.]

I've been fine, Rue. But please stay safe. And if Clove comes looking for you, please tell me...? [She'd do anything in her power to protect Rue, and that's quite a lot.]
