[Friends (If you've even had ONE friendly conversation with the girl this applies to you.)]

Um... I'm sorry I haven't really been around lately. I don't know if any of you know Peeta or heard him tell people what's happening but I didn't want you to worry.

[She takes a breath] In my world there's something called The Hunger Games. Every year two kids, a boy and a girl, are picked from each District to go to an arena and fight. [She pauses] There's only one winner... another girl from the Games I was in got here, Clove. She's what we call a Career. They train for years for the Games and volunteer to go.

I don't want her to know I'm here... at least, not yet. I've been staying with friends. I miss all of you, though. How have you been?

[Though she's not about to announce her presence she still misses talking to people. She hesitates a moment before picking up a pencil and writing a question]

What's your favorite flower?

I helped Katniss in the games by doing that. She didn't even know I was up there until I got her attention.

[how sweet ... ugh, rue, you are really the most adorable. helping katniss out in the games ... rue's fate must have been an awful one, despite all that.]

She must be really glad you're here, huh? Katniss, that is.

[She nods]

Yeah. She couldn't believe it. [She pauses] She's from a year later than I am...

[ino]

Wow, really? [surprised .... yeah, that must have been a really happy, tearful reunion] Well, you guys will get plenty of chances to hang out as friends here, I'm sure.

[fly_little_bird]

Yeah. Everyone here is from later than I am... I'm glad to have a chance to spend time with Peeta and Katniss.

[ino]

I'm sure they're glad to spend time with you, too. [she'll smile, before pointing a little ways ahead towards the courtyard] Almost there!

[fly_little_bird]

[She pauses, going up on her toes to take a look with her arms held slightly out from her sides for balance. She gives Ino a playful grin.]

Race you there.

[Without waiting for a response she takes off running.]

[ino]

[she'll laugh and ... hop along behind her, ninja style. still, she'll let Rue win, because she's a kidlet and all]

[When she gets there she'll spin around grinning from ear to ear]

You let me win. [She looks so bothered by this fact doesn't she?]

[ino]

[she looks amused] You're going to have to practice a little more before it's really a fair race.

[fly_little_bird]

[She giggles] I'll practice real hard just so we can.
