[the fairy, who (for those of you that listened closely to her and Luna's exchange yesterday after the second riddle) recently revealed her actual name is Momoka, is currently taking a short break. Mostly to give everyone else a chance to rest.
She's crouched down to the floor. The ground in this part... is starting to feel a little cold and snowy but not too bad. She's writing down two names in the snow:
[Eleven has some of his skirts bundled in one of his hands as he walks. He's very distracted, looking at everything around them, trying to figure out their next step.]
[she's standing on her hindlegs, forelegs resting against the wall of the maze, and wings outstretched for balance. She's looking up at the (seemingly) open sky, wondering if it's worth it to check on the invisible glass ceiling when it's more likely that she'll just get a bump on the noggin for her trouble.]
[speaking of hair, Peter's is seriously getting out of hand. By this point it's gotten down to his waist. Right now he's more focused on the journal, though, and getting a message across to Phoebe.
All of a sudden he breaks out into spontaneous singing with no discernable music source]
What can I say How do I tell her All that's happened here?
I try to be brave Keep telling myself That she may be near
Can't believe I'm back in another dream Somewhere far away Separated from the one I love For two entire days
[he pauses, realizing what he just did] And now I'm singing.
[GUESS WHO IS LOOKING LIKE A GROUNDED TODDLER OVER HERE I mean really, he's got the pout and the folded arms and everything as he walks along. Maturity does not become Nikola Tesla.]
...When I finally get out of this place, I am going to strangle someone, I swear.
[It's been a while since they came across the door but the next one they finally see is much larger than the others. It's white and covered in frost.
Momoka stiffens]
There's something different about this door.
[she turns and faces the group]
This one doesn't have a riddle. It has a challenge. It'll open when enough people pass the challenge... but I don't know what it considers to be a pass.
Don't let it overwhelm you. Just think clearly- I'm sure you can do it.
[upon touching the door the scenery changes. Everything is becoming covered in snow.
Your partner- your prince, is there before you, just as if you weren't in the dream world at all. But something is strange. There's a weird blank look in their eyes.
That's because a shard from the devil's mirror has fallen into their eye.
You can try to talk to them but they won't react. Finally, a queen dressed in nothing but white, whose very skin seems to be made of ice, arrives on a great carriage.
It is the Snow Queen. And she just took your partner away.
[Hey, it's Maladict, hey Maladict, what is she doing-]
[WAIT DID THAT JERK OF A QUEEN JUST TAKE HER AWAY]
[...]
[OKAY MAN THIS IS WAR YOU ARE NOT TAKING HIS GIRLFRIEND AWAY just going to try to step forward after the carriage (darn womanly shoes, always getting in the way) because whenever someone has to put their foot in their mouth and leap before looking, it has to be Tesla.]
[Eleven steps up to River, reaching out to lightly touch her face.] River...
[His gaze darkens, the muscles in his jaw tensing as he looks into his wife's eyes. No. This is a dream. There's still a chance that this is some illusion meant to frighten them. But this is going too far. Trapping him is one thing. But it's another thing altogether to hurt one of his. Even of it is just an illusion, the fun and games are most certainly over. Taking a breath, he turns to the carriage.
His tone may be light, but the smile on his face most certainly does not reach his eyes.] And who might you be? No, let me guess. If she's the Fairy God Mother that makes you either the Step Mother or the Wicked Witch. Am I getting close?
[Seeing Carolina there with that blank look triggers something ugly in York. He'd seen her like that once before, and she really had lost her mind. He'll run up to her and start shaking her.]
Carolina. Carolina! Wake up!
[But she doesn't react, and even when the Snow Queen comes to take her away he tries to follow the carriage...with no luck.
Eventually he turns back to the group, looking angry more than anything else.]
She was cold, when I touched her. Can anyone here make fire?
[she happily gallops up to Fluttershy and Rarity but the lack of response is certainly troubling. Unsure, she looks around and sees the others talking to thin air.
Well then. You don't have to be the princess of the night, bringer of the night, mistress of illusions, etc., etc. to figure this out.
She takes a few steps away from the illusions, wings unfurled and snorting. And, as it turns out, she can be pretty damn loud, even without her magic.]
Fie upon thee, foul creature! How dare thou malignest the forms of those We care for? Unbind Our magic, and We shall show thee the depths of a nightmare thou canst scarce imagine!
[Spike has only been about half-there the entire time, but some things force his attention. It's strange seeing Zoe there, for one thing. Obviously she got linked to him after he woke up in her room. Thus far, he hadn't given it any more thought than that. Then now... of all the people to hallucinate about, this one leaves something unsettled in his gut. The blank stare isn't helping.
When it finally occurs to him that this might really be her, he calls her name -- only too late to be effective. Once she's gone, he's carefully looking around at the others for reactions. Probably not what he should be focusing on...]
.... Faye?! Or is it Crowley ... [they were in the same body when he fell asleep, after all. how perfect, somehow, that he thinks his princes are the two best friends he should never have fallen out of touch with.
the hair, the dress, the random singing - he doesn't care how annoying any of this is. when he gets close enough to Faye and that literal ice-queen scoops her up and carts her off, he sets his jaw. he didn't finally man up, face his issues, and start talking to her again just to have her taken away]
[A snow world? No... no not again. These dreams... He began to shake, hands grasping his skirts sharply. Why? What? Was that Albus? His eyes widen and he reaches out to him... and then sees the woman? What? Where was she going with him? Something was wrong?]
Albus!
[He would cast a spell to stop them, but he already knows he can't, so instead, he raises his skirt and panting takes after, abandoning his shoes to run faster still through the snow because heels and snow did not mix as it were.]
[Ashura wrapped his arms around himself as the snow appeared, spinning, trying to get a sense of things. And then he saw Felix, standing out like a bright spot of flame in the dark. Felix.]
Felix!
[He stumbled towards him, the drifts catching him and the skirts not helping or the length of his hair. Then he saw the woman. Saw his beloved walking away with her, and a mixture of things ran through him - panic, rage, despair. He bit his lip, trying to tell himself this wasn't real, but it felt real. And what if it was?]
Felix! Felix don't go with her! Woman, unhand my fiance!
[He stumbles after them, thought he going is slow with the weight of his hair and dress.]
