After doing this, the Golden Egg will appear."





...I certainly hope thy cow will be cooperative.

Yes, I am well aware of its definition. However, if we were operating under the assumption that she is a normal cow and that feeding glass to anypony is a bad idea (with rather foreseeable consequences, I might add), then perhaps the instructions are symbolic in nature.
