#007 The Roaring Twenties

[It's that time of the month again! The Host Club is once more opening its doors for business, this time with a couple of new additions and a couple of losses... The ballroom has been completely transformed into a 1920s style speakeasy.
A few hosts are serving behind the bar, namely Allen, Maladict and Cole, all of them dressed in this bartender outfit. The rest of the hosts are dotted around the room dressed in this attractive outfit, complete with the hat. There are two notable exceptions to this - one of which is Haruhi, who is dressed in a flapper dress, and Tamaki who is dressed in a white suit.
There are tables for playing poker, chips provided, as well as three American Pool tables to have a go on. By the door, there are racks of dresses and suits in 1920s style, in case any of the guests wish to take part in the theme themselves - manning the racks is Delta, instructed to persuade the guests to take part and compliment them on their new look.
Come on and all and enjoy the club!]

I'm no one worth waiting on, Gwaine. [ The tone has definitely slid forward through the decades, though it pains her to do so, she knows that she can't let herself be taken in so easily. With the training and experience of her years, she's slowly but surely pulling in those emotions, trapping them behind those walls she knows she needs. Swallowing thickly, she exhales through parted lips, an almost cold edge to her words. ]
To wait for my favor would be a curse. [ He doesn't know what she is. It's something she has to remind herself of when she deals with those that are here. They don't know of her true nature, of the way she's killed and not cared of those bodies she's put to the ground. If he knew, he would not think so fondly of her and maybe she should tell him, but it seems hardly the place here.
Of course, part of her would sooner keep her secret in order to keep him in her company.
Which is the difficult part. It's the part that makes her not turn and leave. Which she should've done much earlier. ]

With all due respect, I would prefer to be the judge of that myself. [ He sounds almost apologetic when he speaks next, but sincerity lines his words. ] Besides I am not one to tolerate such words pronounced against a woman. Not even the woman in question herself.

Gwaine... [ Katherine can't even figure out how to dissuade him and part of her doesn't actually want to. ]
I would be the expert on myself, in this case especially.

Is this your way of dismissing me?

[ It actually gives her a moment to think, to realize that she can't just let his charm and compassion get to her this way. She has other things to think of, priorities here in the castle and, although charming and endearing - not to mention attractive, Gwaine is not part of those priorities. ]
Your company was appreciated, but it is no longer needed.
