['voice'][ Hope that crash didn't startle anyone too much. It sounds like someone tripped over something metal, then fell and hit something else sturdy. Duke's only verbal reaction to this is a soft grunt of 'that hurt'. ]

[ Anyone heading past the fourth floor of the Satis Tower will find Duke half out of his doorway, holding his head. Judging by where he is - and what his hair is still on - he hit his head on the doornob. And the cause of this fall?

A set of armor sits like someone had shed it, not too far away from his feet. An armbrace sits innocently along one edge. Looks like someone found the castle's Christmas gift... with his feet. ]

[ Don't mind Duke. He's removing and replacing a hand from one ear a bit confusedly. Yes, the beeping is gone, but... ]

... What is the ringing...

Ringing?

Uh oh...

[Carson takes out a tool used for examining the inside of an ear.]

I'm just going to take a wee look, see if there's any damage to your inner ear.

.... How would... [ Puzzled staring in Carson's general direction. He can't focus enough to check his own injuries with magic at the moment, so he just sits there. ]

[Duke will feel something sliding into his ear as Carson checks his eardrums for any damage]

How loud is the ringing? Is it only in one ear?

[ eitaghluiaehdfkjvzn. Duke shudders and twitches away from that because it feels weird.

Perhaps that was the answer to how someone was going to to check on the inner ear - Okay, lurching away wasn't his best idea because dizzy and he doesn't quite get his arm under him to catch him as fast as he could have and

thump. Again. ]

...Bloody hell...

[Carson moves over to kneel in front of Duke.]

Are you okay?

Headache. [ He. really wants to curl into a ball right now. He can not stress that word enough to imply how much this headache is bothering him. ]

Dizzy. Annoying ear ringing. [ Which... is all part of what one can get from a concussion. ]

[atadiscoverer]

It looks as though you might have a concussion. [Carson gets to that conclusion.]

I can give you something for the headache, but I'm going to have to ask you to come down to the clinic with me.

[ but Duke doesn't want to move. But a headache fix.....

He really carefully pushes himself up to sitting. He's a bit uneasy about going to the clinic. ]

Would you like a hand standing up? You can lean on me when walking, in case you feel dizzy again. Don't want you hurting yourself more.

... Would the scanner have mentioned that Duke's blindness is wierd?

[ A short grumble-like noise. Yes, he's blind. No, he doesn't always need help.

Duke pushes himself up the wall for a bit before stopping and reaching blindly for the help offered. Dizzy. ]

[Carson moves forward and offers his arm.]

Lets take it easy, aye? One step at a time.

[ Unless Carson put his arm under Duke's hand, he doesn't notice it beyond 'oh, hey, there was movement'.

Just going to stay leaning against this wall for now, then. ]

[Handwave in front of Duke's eyes.]

Ah. You're blind...

[Carson immediately touches his arm to Duke's hand. His words aren't pitying, more like a statement.]

Come on, the quicker we get you to the clinic, the better.

[ Yes, he is. Thank you for reminding him.

He twitches, but mostly because he'd forgotten he'd been waiting to get some balance by aid. Just. pretending he didn't get unfocused. ]

... fine...

[And, so, they get to the clinic, Carson being there more for support than actually guiding him. He does, however, lead him to a chair when they get to the clinic.]

Have a seat and I'll be back in a wee while.

[ Wobbling to find that seat.

But he forgets to check to make sure he's sitting on it right. That thump? Duke's sitting on the floor now.

He'll just.. gently put his head on his arm on that chair he missed. ]

[And Carson comes back almost immediately when he hears that thump, bottle of pills in one hand.]

Are you okay?

Misjudged. [ he didn't hit his head again, he's just feeling particularly pathetic.

And sitting like this is good enough for him. ]

Okay...

[Hey, he's not going to meddle.

He holds out the pill bottle so that it's touching Duke's hand]

Here's a moderate painkiller with added caffeine. It's vital that you don't sleep for the next 8 hours until signs of the concussion wear off.

Take only two of these pills every four hours, if the headache is still bad, give me a wee shout and I'll come and give you a check-up.

[ Duke's fingers twitch and then wrap about the bottle. Without lifting his head, he used both hands to figure out what the bottle looks like - and manage to get the top off. carefully finding two of these 'pills'. ]

painkiller; new. Likely of one of the other worlds... [ He's got two now, and doesn't seem too sure what to do with them. Take? ...

If it was medicine, should swallow, right? That is how one 'took' Gels, most of the time. But gels are chewy. These don't feel chewy. ]

Oh, you don't have pills where you're from? One sec.

[Carson goes and grabs a glass of water.]

The best way is to put them toward the back of your mouth and drink them down with water. It's not a good idea to chew them.

[He offers forth the glass in a similar manner as the pill-bottle]

No chewing? Unlike Gels then... [ Oh. Water.

Water is always good for headaches.

Oh, pills taste disgusting when held for a bit. A slight grimace but he's going to drink all that glass of water and then.. hold onto it, because he doesn't know what else to do with it..... ]

You want some more water? [Carson asks, ready to take the glass.]

And you're welcome to stay here for a while. It's usually quiet enough, or I can help you back to your room if you want.

... water helps headaches.... [ Duke wants to just, curl up in a corner and sleep, which is what he usually does when he can't heal himself better, but head injury means no sleeping, Carson said, therefor he's just going to feel backwards and inch that way. ]

for ease. [ It'd be easier if he just stayed here.

Convince him to not sit on the floor, though. ]
