[Here Spike was, coming back to his room after some quality time at a bar, innocently going about his day. Usual stuff. When he gets there, he doesn't bother to flip the lights on, and throws his jacket to where a chair usually sits -- only to hear it fall to the floor instead (...coincidentally causing the journal to fly out of it...). Huh.

He doesn't dwell on it though. Maybe he moved the chair and doesn't remember. Or he's more tipsy than he thought, which is always possible. Then he takes a step and immediately runs into something.]

Ow.

[-- what the? That's when he flips on the light to see a pile of shopping bags. ...

Recognition (very) slowly dawns on him as he has a better look around and gets incrementally more disturbed. Why... is he in Faye's room? How does that even happen? Did he forget what floor he was on? That's when he hears someone (who definitely isn't Faye) call out from the bed to turn off the light. That snaps his attention back to ask a much more pressing question.]

Action; One day later...

[Sleeping in Faye's room isn't incredibly comfortable. Spike refused to sleep in the bed, and he didn't want to think what her couch had been used for, so he didn't have many options. Eventually, he had fallen asleep sitting against the wall, next to the pile of spenf cigarettes he's accumulated over the past 24 hours.

If it's up to him, he'll nap until this whole thing is over.]

[ Except Joshua's had enough alone time, not able to sleep anymore, and having long since dressed and fixed himself cereal. He can manage that much, and by now he knows Spike's a useless bum so asking him to cook is a waste of time.

But he's not boring, despite being quiet, so the teen's actually going to try to wake him up around noon when he's done reading. This should be easily accomplished by holding the alarm clock next to Spike's ear and setting it off at max volume. ]

[Five minutes. It couldn't have been more than five that Spike was blissfully somewhere else when a godawful blaring shoots his eyes open. He stands before his brain catches up to the movement, taking a half-ass swipe for the clock as he does. The only words out of his mouth is some slurred string of curses while he pieces it all together. (Go ahead and guess the last time he woke up to an alarm clock.)]

Turn it off. [What's wrong with you??]

[ Laughing in delight, Joshua tugs the alarm clock away and turns it off. SPIKE YOU ARE CLEARLY A MORNING PERSON. ]

Good afternoon! You smell like stale cigarettes. You should probably bathe, and then eat. Then we can watch a film or play some card games.

[Ugh, he's still trapped in this room, why... Not only that, but now his back is sore from leaning against the wall. Everything is so annoying, all he can do is squint.]

I was sleeping.

[As if making a point.]

Not very comfortably. Do you have a germ phobia? If you do, I think it's my duty to inform you that where you are isn't really any cleaner than the rest of the place.

Simple observation. Valentine isn't exactly the most thorough cleaner, and you're on the floor.

So are you going to get up?

[Stop being so observant, it's weirding him out. And making being asleep with him watching seem less appealing.]

I thought that was obvious.

[Great. He rubs his eyes and reaches into his pocket for yet another cigarette... his pack only has one left. That's depressing.]

Try the door yet? [-- since this morning. Or in the last five minutes.]

I did, but it won't budge any more.

[ Noticing the look. ]

You can just ask the castle for more.

[Spike makes another face; early-morning grouchiness maybe (even if it's the afternoon...). He'd almost rather steal some from Faye than see any more magic.]

Yeah, I know how it works. [He half mumbles it while he lights the thing. Now if only she had a coffee pot around, he'd be getting somewhere.]

I'd love some coffee. You should make some! I don't know how to use those machines. Fiore made my coffee differently.

[... Spike pauses, mid-step, as he was going to look for one.]

As long as you don't do that. [Whatever he's doing. He doesn't trust it.]

How should I know?

[And he's back to looking for a coffee pot, while doing his best not to think about anything else. Just in case that wasn't a weird coincidence.]

[ Joshua's fine with acting clueless. It's always how humans are. Too busy panicking to think of just asking questions. He isn't about to coddle any of them for being ignorant. ]

I think you're paranoid. This is only the second day, you need to snap out of it.

['Only the second'. If there's a third, they might not get along so well.]

I'll get right on that. [Spike pauses to smash his cigarette out in the ashtray on Faye's bedside dresser, like a coffee pot would be hidden under her bed or something -- only the cigarette shatters as soon as it hits. When he glances at it, it's suddenly full of diamonds.

... Can't get away from this shit for one minute. He tries to ignore that too, instead opening drawers just to have something else to focus on here.]

Doesn't she own one? I thought she drank coffee.

[ But he's suddenly too distracted by what he witnesses to push further on that subject, over by the ashtray in an instant and reaching out to pick it up. ]

Wow...! I want one!

[Knowing Faye, she probably does have one, buried under five tons of shopping bags. Joshua's other comment gets a side-eye, since Spike isn't half as excited about a magic ashtray. Just makes it fill up quicker.]

I didn't think you smoked.

[...Hold on, a more important object catches his eye. Shoved under her desk, is a small, underused coffee pot. Jesus, finally. He's on that in a hot minute. About time he had luck with something.]

I've never tried one... But I doubt I need to smoke to make it work. I can just light it.

[Removing pens and stuff from inside the coffee pot (seriously, Faye?), he glances back over his shoulder. Yeah, he doesn't feel like telling him to try anything else.]

That's a waste. Those used to be expensive before you could wish for them.

Well I didn't exactly worry about money before coming here, either. But maybe just fire works. Bring your lighter over here when you're done making coffee.

[Anyway, he's less hopeful about finding coffee grounds to make it with, so he very secretively wishes for some. At he'll know it isn't expired...]
