[Maybe someday Phoenix will be used to living life as a non-human; the way things have been going lately, it seems that's the direction the castle is pushing him in. After all, it's going on a week since he woke up and found himself turned into a bird.
Well, not just a bird--a large, deep blue phoenix, because the castle has a very stupid sense of humor which he does not appreciate at all.
He's fully aware that he's stuck in this ridiculous form, but since he can't talk or communicate with anyone and he really doesn't want anyone to find out about this nonsense, he's been keeping to himself as much as possible. Unfortunately this means he's now officially run out of the junk food he's been eating in his room, and the castle--of course--isn't granting his wishes for more.
With no other solution presenting itself, he's forced to soar through the halls of the castle--and that's just what he's doing this evening... flying and searching and hoping to find food somewhere.]
((Phoenix is on a phoenix loss. Feel free to bother the huge fiery blue bird. ;D))

You used to be human?

He "nods" quickly again. At least he's getting somewhere!]

Barton rocks back on his haunches, looking the bird over.]
Huh. I was right. This is new.

[God, this feels weird.]
Anything I can do to help, or...?

[He sighs.]
Well, if you need some company... I got nothing to do.

Once there, he pecks at the refrigerator. Darn this lack of hands.]

[He leans against the counter, watching the phoenix.]

He pecks harder.
(Do something! Feed me! I can't do anything about it myself!]

[He nods once as a sort of pseudo-thanks and sets about raiding the refrigerator to the best of his ability. There's not much in there that can be eaten by a bird, and the thought of eating eggs in this body seems more than a little repulsive, so he goes for some fruit sitting on the bottom shelf.
His gobbling is not a pretty picture.]

Hungry, huh?

He's finished the fruit in a few more moments of scarfing it, and although the floor in front of the refrigerator is now a mess, he's feeling much more content. He chirps a "thanks" and manages to fly up and perch on the countertop without making too much of a fool out of himself.]

Dunno what you're like as a human, but you make a handsome bird.
