Looks like it's that time of year again, huh? Time for everyone to be neck deep in babies!

Er... well,not really neck-deep, that would be pretty weird and maybe a little creepy. Anyway, the point I was getting at is that you all are in luck! Ace Babysitter Maya Fey is here to help you all! To start, I've wished up a ton of toys from the castle that kids are bound to love, and I'll be giving them away in the lobby, free of charge!

[and, just as promised, if you come down to the lobby you'll find Maya sitting in a chair next to a big lumpy bag full of toys ]

A lot of people here are really serious, so I figured you guys would need help finding fun things for your little tyke to play with.

Okay, so.... [how to say this.....]

Trucy is someone who came here to the castle for a while! She was from our world's future, about seven years.

She's also kind of.... your adopted daughter.

Adopted daughter! Well, that's just what she and Apollo told me, I've never had a chance to ask future-you about how it happened. [in fact, they really didn't get a chance to talk much before he left... she's kind of glad for, from what she's heard from Apollo.. she's not sure what else has changed, and the thought kind of scares her]

[When he speaks up again in a few minutes' time, his voice is low, careful and measured.]

So my future self was here already...? ...and I adopt a daughter somewhere within the next seven years?

[There are so many questions... but Maya has already established that she probably wouldn't have the answers to them.

How old is she? This Trucy you're talking about.

Fifteen. She was here in the castle for a few months, and we became really good friends.

She's great! She's energetic, loves magic, really sweet, was always busy doing something crazy...

You did a great job raising her, Nick. [it's not hard to hear the pride her voice]

[In turn, his voice betrays that he is mildly shocked and still confused... but...]

[Maybe there's some strange pride here for him, too. He may never have met Trucy before, but knowing that he can raise a daughter well--and has proved it, somehow--makes his heart well up with something nice, anyway.

And he smiles at the journal, at Maya's voice.]

What else do you want to know about her? It's been a while, but I can tell you what I remember.

[He opens his mouth to protest--"oh no, I don't need to take up all your time with questions like that!"--but instead out tumble a far different set of words.]

What does she look like? Do you have any idea who her biological parents were? Why would I adopt a daughter? Is she a good person?

Let's see... she had short brown hair that she wore in a little pony tail, and she was always dressed up in this magician getup. She wore a lot of light blue, oh! And she wore a top hat! It was really cute.

And she never talked about her biological parents, she just talked about you. As for why, like I said, I don't know. [she kind of thinks he must have just... stumbled upon her or something when she had no one else. She knows that Nick can't really turn away someone who is all alone. Buuuut that's far too mushy to say out loud, soooo]

And yes, she's definitely a good person.

She sounds wonderful... wow. I really wish she was still here. I'd love to meet her.

...I'm glad you got to meet her, though. I don't think I'd believe anybody else if they told me this.

Of course she is! She's got you and Apollo looking out for her, and she's probably looking out for both of you at the same time. I think she loves her life.
