[Today will find Spike in the library, piles and piles of books about dragons in front of him as he tries to find some answers the castle doesn't seem to want to give him. His journal is open beside him as he dictates into it]

Man, there are no books in the library telling you how to be a dragon. It's all about dragons being evil and stealing princesses and stuff. What is with that? I mean, who'd tie some girl to a stake and say 'oh this'll get rid of the dragon, this is what he wants'. That doesn't make any sense. Nothing here paints dragons in a good picture at all, and I know I'm not the only dragon that doesn't want to stomp around eating people. It sucks.

[Siiiiigh] And I'm gonna have nightmares about this George guy for the rest of my life. Thanks for that, Paradisa.

[Page flip. Silence] Wait. Dragons have a year? What's that about? Are dragons supposed to be doing something special this year or something? Because I don't want to miss out on that.

[Princess Luna]
I tried to see if there were any books on the weather in Paradisa, but I couldn't find any in the library at all. [His tone very much suggesting that him not being able to find a book is UNHEARD OF. It's one of those skills he's very proud of] There doesn't seem to be any books on Paradisa itself at all. It's really weird.

That's right! Princess Luna controls the moon in our world, she's pretty cool.

[Not going to mention only a year ago she went nuts and tried to plunge the world into endless night. Nope]

You were?

...Well, I'm just a baby dragon, I'll grow eventually. We aren't born huge.

Very much so. I collected figurines and the like as a child.

A baby? Your speech was so developed, I wasn't quite sure.

You had dragon action figures? Cool!

Well, it's not like I've just been hatched or anything. But I'm still a baby by dragon standards.

How large do dragons of your kind get?

About forty feet.

...And do they retain their amiability?

Uh...no. Not really. [At all] I'm trying to figure a way around that.

I suppose you are in luck, then, considering it appears that no one ages here.

It happened here anyway. I don't know why, but it did, a couple of weeks ago.

What did, exactly?

Grew big. I nearly destroyed the castle.

How did that manage to happen? I was under the impression that we were all in some sort of suspended animation.

I dunno. I guess the castle decided to turn that off or something.

...In retrospect, it might have been a good thing if you had managed to destroy the castle.

How would that have been a good thing? Nopony would have anywhere to live.

If the castle is a sentient being as everyone says, then perhaps destroying it would let go of the control it has over us and we'd be back home. [At least it's a thought to amuse oneself by]

But what if it didn't work? And somepony got hurt?

From what I understand, one does not apparently stay dead here.

...I had a conversation with someone recently in which they spoke of an item of which, if ingested, indefinitely stunts the maturing process of a certain breed of animal. I am not exactly certain if that applies to all organisms, however...but it is worth a thought.

I'm not a breed of animal, I'm a dragon.

...When we use the term, 'animal,' it is referring to any multicellular organism of the Animal Kingdom...even humans, such as myself. By scientific standards, we are all certainly 'animals.'

...But I was not comparing you to them, if that's what you thought, initially.
