Waking up to someone else in her bed is one of the many things she holds no fondness for. Especially when she distinctly remembers that they certainly were not there when she went to sleep. The fact that it is someone she knows only strengthens it. The fact that it is him causes the battle between her heart and her mind to begin anew.

Well, Morgana certainly hopes you have had a nice sleep Gwaine, as your waking is going to be anything but. Shaking her head she embraces her anger, quickly becoming furious that he managed to find his way into her bed. She takes the dagger she keeps her pillow, fingers tightening around the hilt and in a single swift movement she straddles him. The blade pressing against his throat--isn't this familiar? ]

Yeah? [ Gwaine looks up. His features, usually friendly and open, are shuttered. ] What is it?

[ She spares a glance to Ida, who has scooted over to help feed Ailis, then back to Gwaine. The next words out of her mother are hesitant and careful: ]

Are you... alright?

I'm fine. I'm a father. Why wouldn't I be?

And I'm a mother yet again. [ This isn't just hard for you Gwaine. ]

[ At least you knew to expect this. ]

How was it?

The first time? It was terrifying. I did not know what to do.

Had help?

[ It's his subtle way of fishing for information on this other man. ]

Some. [ She reaches over to gently stroke Ida's hair. The girl smiles up at her before continuing her task of feeding her sister. ] Gilbert was as lost as me.

I miss Father.

I know you do, my sweet. [ She misses him too. ]

[ Gilbert. Okay. Gilbert is getting a mace to the face if Gwaine ever finds him. Thoughts aside, he smiles kindly at Ida. ]

Good man, was he?

[ Better not let Morgana ever hear that, she would not react well. ]

He was.

[ Gwaine observes her quietly. He struggles to maintain a relaxed appearance. Apart from grinding his teeth, he mostly succeeds. ]

Must be. If he can affect the once queen so.

[ Her posture stiffens and she focuses on him. ]

He is gone now, there is little point in fussing over someone who may never return.

If you say so. [ He cannot stay here anymore. He feels suffocated. Gwaine stands. ] If you will excuse me, I have matters to attend elsewhere at the moment. My ladies.

[ He bows politely and strides from the room before he loses what fraying control he has over his temper. ]

My lord.

[ Unlike her daughter Morgana says nothing, watching Gwaine bow then leaves the room. If only she had the luxury of leaving to clam her own fraying nerves. ]
