17th Perscription ~ [Dictated]
[There's the sound of happy baby noises coming over the journal, as well a familiar beeping noise. To those who recognise it, it'll be the sound of Dr. Beckett's Ancient Life-Signs Detector. And a baby.]
No, no no, Rodney, those are daddy's-
[And the sound of Carson coming over to rescue his journal and scanner from his castle-given son.]
Wait... It's active... You've got the gene, too?
[It was to be expected, but it's still a surprise.]
Who's a little genius, aye? Who's a wee genius? [Baby talk. And it makes Rodney giggle.]

I take it he shares a special gene with you?
no subject
Aye, he does. A gene designed specifically to activate a certain type of technology. Nothing dangerous.

I'm an evolutionary abnormality.

It's simple enough. I was conceived mid-flight through the time vortex. The time vortex leaks a special sort of radiation that can change people slightly through long-term exposure. You can imagine the effect it would have on a fetus. Any sort of radiation affects fetuses and infants much more than adults.

[She could have had a time head for all anyone knew or grew an extra limb, but instead she'd evolved along the path of the Time Lords]
Yes, technically. Still human, mind you. One heart instead of two.

...You seem quite happy with your little 'bundle of joy.'
no subject
Aye, he's not a pick of bother, are you, Rodney. Say hello to Mr. Edgeworth.
[Happy gurgle.]
How have you been?
no subject
I've been adjusting to the idea of sudden parenthood, having had a little girl of my own.
no subject
You, too? Was it with someone in the castle?
