[and there goes Mother of the Year, down the street, with a dangerously adorable toddler... on a leash. It's attached to a harness around the kid's torso... but it's still definitely a leash. The kid is wandering toward every shop window, pointing at every shiny and expensive-looking thing]

No, it's not. C'mon-- [giving the leash a little tug to get the girl moving again]

[and once they get back to the castle? That leash is staying on, while Faye flops down on the couch, apathetically hanging onto it with one hand while the girl runs around ...and seems to be using an ashtray as a truck or an airplane, judging by the engine sounds she's trying to make. Mommy's not taking a nap--honest.]

[and, with a gleeful fluttering of wings, the little girl leaps into the air... catching Faye by surprise and pulling the leash right out of her hands. heads up!]

[He'll keep moving towards that door now, yup]

[yeah no, she's heading right for Crowley like an adorable little cannonball.

[And thus, Crowley was hugged by an adorable little girl, all the while looking like he wanted to curl up and die]

It would be a shame if anymore of them should turn up in her playpen.

[Suddenly, there's Spike in the lobby, seated not far off from the two of them. He doesn't really want to be there, but morbid curiosity keeps him staring at the baby spawn of a demon.

When she doesn't notice him right away, he offers his valued opinion.]

I saw that one coming.

[oh, hey, it's that guy that she shot. Good to see that he's still alive and able to pick on her.

Both mother and baby turn at the voice... but the toddler must have sensed tension between them, because she immediately disappears. Just poof, spontaneously turns invisible, leaving Faye holding a leash that now hangs suspended from nothing]

You know, one of these days, it's going to stick you with a kid, and I'm going to laugh myself sick.

[Neat trick. If only all kids could learn it.]

That'll be something to worry about when I pick up a demon girlfriend. [See how he isn't mentioning the shooting thing? Be nervous, Faye.]

[as if on cue, the kid turns visible again, sitting on the floor and pouting. Funny, she doesn't like being ignored. It's a wonder where she got that trait from. She's just going to have to deal though, because Faye's attention is definitely not on her]

Guess that means you've had time to cool down.
