[messin_with_my_zen_thing]

[It had been hard enough trying to meditate with everything that had been going on in the past month or so... and then the journal constantly flipping open to the sounds of children and exasperated parents. Now that the children were gone Flynn decided to give it another shot.

Then his hand started twitching.

So he clasped his hands together, took a deep breath and relaxed...

and his cheek started twitching.

Oh you have GOT to be kidding. He opens his eyes, looking out the window at the trees and sighing.]

That's just a low blow, man.

[Glancing over, he sees his journal open on the nearby dresser. Shaking his head he dictates]

The idea behind losing something isn't a new one. It teaches us to be less reliant on certain objects or abilities. To reach beyond and find deeper strength within ourselves to compensate. But I have to wonder about the reasoning behind the things this place chooses to take from us.

[A small, dry laugh] That's for sure.

But you're right, about what you said. You just gotta...try to find a way around it. Make up for it another way. Because it's not going to get better.

Oh I'm sure I will. I've managed to adapt to worse. I just find it intriguing that this place finds the need to take something from each person with no real rhyme or reason as to what.

I don't know about that. There seems to be a reason. I mean...whatever it took was important to you, right?

[messin_with_my_zen_thing]

In a manner of speaking, yes. Although it wouldn't be too difficult to learn to live without it.

[both_neither]

Can I ask what you were trying to do?

[messin_with_my_zen_thing]

I was knocking on the sky and listening to the sound.

[both_neither]

Yeah? What sound does the sky make?

[messin_with_my_zen_thing]

Well that all depends on what sky you're knocking on. [He sighs softly] S'pose I'll never find out what sound this one makes.

I don't suppose there's another way to do it?

[messin_with_my_zen_thing]

Not as such, no. But I suppose I'm going to have to find some alternative.

That or dwell on what you can't have.

Which would be more counterproductive than anything else. [he chuckles]

That's for sure.

Since December.

I've been here since April, myself. What do you think of the place so far?

It's hard to nail down. I think I've gone back and forth on whether or how much I hate the place a dozen or so times since then.

[messin_with_my_zen_thing]

That's a fair answer. And I'd imagine that if you ever succeed in finally deciding one way or the other the castle will do something to disrupt that decision all over again.

[He makes a vaguely amused sound] Yeah probably.

From what I've seen so far it seems to be very good at that.

Keeps you on your toes, at least.

Sometimes that's not such a bad thing.
