Third line of code
[It had been hard enough trying to meditate with everything that had been going on in the past month or so... and then the journal constantly flipping open to the sounds of children and exasperated parents. Now that the children were gone Flynn decided to give it another shot.
Then his hand started twitching.
So he clasped his hands together, took a deep breath and relaxed...
and his cheek started twitching.
Oh you have GOT to be kidding. He opens his eyes, looking out the window at the trees and sighing.]
That's just a low blow, man.
[Glancing over, he sees his journal open on the nearby dresser. Shaking his head he dictates]
The idea behind losing something isn't a new one. It teaches us to be less reliant on certain objects or abilities. To reach beyond and find deeper strength within ourselves to compensate. But I have to wonder about the reasoning behind the things this place chooses to take from us.

By closing your eyes you're blocking one of your senses. It's like... Removing a distraction. Closing a program that's not needed for the moment so it doesn't slow down the rest of the processes.
