test chamber 03 ;
[ Besides leaving her room for food, GLaDOS has been holed up in her room for the past while. If one could actually get in, they would see papers on every surface available, each labelled differently. She did vividly recall what her creations back at her facility were made of, but the problem was obtaining the materials. She had heard of 'wishing', but in her opinion, that was extremely ridiculous. Who knew if it even worked, and if it did, were the objects reliable? The former AI was still convinced that whoever had done this to them was toying with them, evidently, as it was scientifically impossible. Unless the technology really was advanced and had mind-reading capacities, but GLaDOS vehemently denied that as well. Even though she was human now, she still had a sense of pride for being the most advanced technology everywhere.
Right now, she's poring over her notes, unsure if she should even bother speaking to the residents. Eventually, she gives in, neatly writing in some filters. ]
[ Everyone except for Wheatley ]
I've heard from a few residents that there is some sort of 'wishing' process in this castle. I would like to hear more about it.
[ Maya ]
[ She clears her throat, finding it extremely odd speaking to a human in a convincingly friendly manner, but knowing how useful the girl could be, she had to at least attempt. ]
Hello. How have you been holding up?

Hello. How have you been holding up?

Filter
There are limitations, however.
Filtered forever!
And what limitations are you talking about?
no subject
Well for starters, you can't wish for weapons or anything excessively large, or too much at once.
no subject
I suppose that's to prevent fighting.
Although, wishing for materials to build weapons would be possible, then?
no subject
If you wanted to build a missile or a reactor, uranium would be hard to come by.
no subject
That doesn't sound too bad. It seems easy to work around. [ Her voice takes a satisfied tone. ]
no subject
What do you need to wish for?
no subject
[ Perhaps having to build from scratch would be tough, but as long as the end results would work, she was up for doing so. ]
GLaDOS
Oh, hey! I've been doing good! What about you?
Maya
I've been doing quite well, actually. I've been busy, but it's nothing I can't handle. [ To be honest, the prospect of building up some defense for her room and such was a good improvement to her usually downcast mood. ] We could... eat sometime, if you'd like.
[ Because she didn't know what other activities they could do together that wouldn't be a complete waste of time. Also, maybe by 'befriending' Maya, she would find a way to get up to speed with that the moron was doing. ]
GLaDOS
Oh! I know, that's a great plan! You can tell me all about what you've been up to over lunch.
Maya
GLaDOS
We could be boring and eat at the kitchen... or we can always go into town if you want! I know some great burger joints.
Maya
I would... prefer not going outside. Maybe being boring would be a better idea.
[ Her fear of those birds stalking her possibly swooping down on her and pecking her to death wasn't exactly helping. ]
GLaDOS
What's wrong with outside?
Maya
[ She doesn't realize how paranoid she sounds. Oh, GLaDOS... ]
They're stalking me through every window they can.
GLaDOS
Birds are... following you? Are you sure? It might just be a coincidence.
Maya
... And I'm sure. They weren't following me before. [ She held back from snapping at her, knowing it wouldn't be much help, but the topic of birds was... difficult. ]
GLaDOS
[huh... she seems really adamant about this]
Maybe we should work on building you a bird protector! Like... a tiny portable scarecrow?
Maya
... Maybe that would be a good idea for later. But I'm not going outside until that's made. [ She sounds like a stubborn child, doesn't she? GLaDOS thinks she's being perfectly reasonable...
sigh]GLaDOS
Alright then, to the kitchen!
Maya
[ And indeed, she heads for the kitchen, wondering if Maya was already there or not when she made it to the doorway. ]
no subject
Hey! Good to see you.
no subject
Hello... did you find food? [ She's hungry, sue her. Also, she's not quite good at small talk yet... ]

I'll make a sandwich. You can have what you want. [ She heads for the fridge and starts taking out cold cuts, lettuce and the like. Mind you, she knows next to nothing about making food. ]
no subject
oh god why didn't i see this sooner D:
After searching for and finding a knife, she starts to cut the bread into four slices, leaving two to the side for Maya to make her own sandwich. She takes some of the coldcuts, sloppily piling them on top of one of her slices, along with random sandwich stuff like tomatoes and lettuce. She looks pretty concentrated. ]
haha, it happens to all of us <3
You're going to starve with that much food! You need way way more. Here, like this! [ahaha, she'll reach over and put some of her extra meat on her sandwich.... I'm so sorry]
no subject
Something concerning overweight humans.
But she bites her tongue, refraining from speaking. ]
Oh? ...... Thank you. [ she forces out, having trouble being so cordial. ]
Are you really eating that? [ she asks Maya, seriously wondering how the girl would manage. ]
no subject
I have a separate stomach for sandwiches.
no subject
... I see. Do you like sandwiches that much? [ she has to ask, as she closes her own, wondering how she would even finish it.
y u put so much meat in it maya]no subject
[she grins, kind of joking but kind of not really] I really just love meat.
no subject
I noticed. [ She goes back into the fridge. ] Do you want something to drink with it?
[ Holding up this polite front was getting a bit easier, although it still just wasn't her. ]
no subject
Water sounds good. Want me to grab some glasses?
no subject
Here it is. [ She's looking forward to eating. Also, maybe also seeing Maya actually eat her sandwich. ]
no subject
Thanks! [lala, putting down her sammich and pouring herself that glass of water]
no subject
... You're welcome. [ she forces out, pouring herself some water once Maya was done. ]
You really do have quite an appetite, don't you. [ Nope, it's not even a question. ]
