[ There's definitely something not right about GLaDOS. For one, she's looking so terribly happy. Two, she's wearing a pink sweater and loads of accessories- is that a skirt? And three, she's in the kitchen, curiously pondering over a cake recipe. A lovely chocolate one, of course.

It takes her awhile, and quite a bit of courage, but finally, she opens the journal and dictates, rather softly: ]

Does anyone want to join me in the kitchen?... I'm making chocolate cake for the Feast... you can even have a slice when it's done, if you want! I'm sure we'll make enough...!

[ She's still a little jittery from that dictation, letting out a little sigh and waiting. It wouldn't do to start making it without anyone if anyone wanted to join her... right? ]

[ GLaDOS has been keeping to herself as of late. Hiding around in her room, beginning to start new tests and in the process of finishing a discouragement laser... why is she suddenly wandering the halls, looking kind of purposeful?

She's going to pick up Wheatley from his hiding spot, even if there's a frustration in her gait.

Don't mind all the nutcrackers she's walking by... ]

[While some of the residents may be exploring, it'd be hard to miss two familiar faces having a go at the finer things in Ninja life: a good old spar. Wheatley and GLaDOS, were outside, sparring in a clearing of grass not far off of the street (probably not where they were supposed to be). It'd be hard to get a hold on them though, because it's obvious by the amount of concentration that they weren't paying anyone any mind.

And the moron of the two was getting his ass handed to him.

Hard.

He'd be skidding backwards in this moment in time, finding himself completely airborne as he soared into some bushes. Despite being in between the collision to the ground, the foliage did little to soften his fall, being a devilish accomplice to GLaDOS's plate of butt kick. He clambered and jerked around, trying to free himself from the snagging branches which caught on his clothes...

But instead, he flailed about, looking even more ridiculous...]

Oww! Oh! Aghh!! Nnnghh!!!!!!!

[Don't think that was all the fight he had in him though!
Despite being terrible at this, he was a determined one, and didn't know how to preserve his dignity and walk away. He also had a tremendous amount of stamina and a few more tricks up his sleeve...]

I... I'm beginning to think that you're doing this on purpose...

[It's late at night when Phoenix spots the cat, as he's traversing the halls of the castle, headed back to his room.]

Oh--uh, hey there?

[Although the creature is a little too deep in his uncanny valley, he still puts on a friendly smile. It's not that much stranger than meeting a lion here, after all, right? Probably just a new resident from some weird world with bizarre cat things.]

...are you new around here?

[But the cat doesn't say anything. Phoenix shrugs and is about to wander on toward his destination, when suddenly there's a heavy weight flung into the left side of his body; he's knocked over, the journal skidding some distance away and falling open, to record the full attack.]

What--aaaaggghh!!! Get off me! Get... get away! No!

[The sounds of a struggle are plainly evident for a few moments more, before a rustling as the journal is quickly retrieved, and desperate panting, running--]

GLaDOS!!

[He reaches her door, on the same floor as his own room but further down the hall, and bangs frantically, begging to be let in.]

GLaDOS, please please open the door, please...!

[But no answer comes quickly enough, and the cat is there again, and Phoenix takes off once more, already knowing the sprint to his own room is fruitless--]

H...help! Somebody, please--it's following me! It's--

[And then a scream filled with fear and agony... and then silence, for a long while before Phoenix speaks again.

This time, his voice is hollow.]

Oh my god...

[ It's been awhile since GLaDOS had communicated with other residents, so she decides to write. Besides, it's easier to read than try and hear other people's voices over the ones rambling on in her head.

She was a true mess- her usually clean-cut white hair was askew, with dark rings and bags under her dull golden eyes, and her clothes were wrinkled from her numerous attempts to curl up and sleep. Not like that worked very often.

And so she wrote, as neatly as she could manage from her current position laying down in her bed: ]

What methods do you humans use for voic soothing headaches and calming themselves down?

This is getting tiresome.

[ She crossed that out, finding it too much of a plea for help instead of a simple question. ]

[Wheatley is lounging about in GLaDOS's room, doing his best to try to keep the psychotic woman from murdering all of you her relaxed. As time consuming as a job like that is, he finds himself to be incredibly... well, lonely. Especially when your only company can barely keep a conversation with you because of the voices tormenting her mind. His voice sounds absolutely exhausted and out of breath. This guy hasn't slept in days...]

D-do you want to know what's really difficult?
Making friends.
And-and I don't mean those fair weather types you humans keep talking about. Wh-what are they called again? Acquaintances? Right right, that's it.

...I mean... well, actual friends. Don't know how you humans can have so many.

And...

[Give him a moment as he slowly inhales, to try to get a train of thought going. All he could think about was sleep...]

Would any of you know any... uh, suggestions... for helping people... wh-who might hear voices in their heads? Maybe? A friend of mine can't sleep and she's...she's... really, really having a hard time here.

[ 1.25 oz. chocolate cake mix. 1 can prepared coconut pecan frosting. 3/4 cup vegetable oil. 4 large eggs...

GLaDOS found herself slowly waking up from her sleep at the sound of that familiar voice, slowly coming to clarity in her head.

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. 3/4 cup butter or margarine. 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar...

She had a feeling it wasn't morning yet- so why was she up? What was that she was hearing? It sounded so familiar... eventually, as soon as the former AI tried to think about it, it came to her.

That was a core that was attached to her, so long ago. Wasn't it?

GRRRrrrggrghrhgrgrRRRGrrrGRRRRRgrrghhhhh--

GLaDOS flinched- yes, these were the cores that were attached to her- back when that mute lunatic had killed her the first time. But how...-

2 cups all-purpose flour... fish-shaped crackers... fish-shaped candies... fish-shaped solid waste... fish-shaped dirt.

.........................

ggrghrhgrgrRRRGrrrG!!

Her head slowly started pounding, the voices loud and overwhelming her thoughts, and she found herself gritting her teeth, putting her hands over her ears... oh no, why was this happening. Her human body wasn't handling the voices as well as her mechanical counterpart had, not even noticing how the journal was opened on the bedside table when she screamed. ]

SHUT UP!!

(( ooc: so this is GLaDOS on a loss! She's going to be hearing the cores from Portal 1 in her head for awhile, barring Curiosity since she's already at the castle. 8')a Feel free to bother her- she'll be a bit off. ))

[ GLaDOS was restless. Her attempt to sleep had only brought about an odd dream, and she found herself unable to do so again. She tossed, she turned, for a good ten minutes before sitting up and reaching for her journal, opening it to speak. ]

Do any of you have a good method to fall asleep? I'm having trouble.

[ She made no mention to the prior week like most people had in the journal, but it was part of the reason she couldn't sleep. Everything was bothering her too much... ]

[ It's a beautiful day, and what better way to spend it than celebrating GLaDOS and Wheatley's marriage?

Well, there are probably other ways. But regardless, there has been a small celebration set up for their vow renewal ceremony. There's a lot of folding chairs set up everywhere so there's (comfortable?) seating for a good amount of people. There are also some tables hanging around, with a decent spread of food, mostly borrowed from the resort's awesome food supply.

Everything's outside, so there's lots of room! Feel free to mill about. Watch the vows being renewed, eat some food, talk to the happy married couple or even dance (there are some sweet classical and generally calm tunes playing, though, so if anything, there won't be a lot of fist-pumping going on)... go ahead and walk by without a care, too. GLaDOS might appreciate the lack of a crowd. ]

[Daytime was when GlaDOS and Wheatley finally came around, rowing to shore and crawling off of the boat that they had left themselves to float in through the night. Drowsily, Wheatley would help his spouse up and out, the two of them looking like a proper trainwreck...

And wheatley having some rather apparent and smeared black lipstick dappled all over his face...

[Wheatley and GLaDOS would be in the kitchen, conversing casually on the first day of their one week truce. That's right everyone, these two psychopaths are actually on a truce. Meaning that they are not going to kill each other or endanger any of the residents of Paradisa.

Wheatley and GlaDOS would be digging through one of the cabinets, looking for a pan... this place really needed to be labeled out. This truce wasn't even a forced one. Spirits would be content, and would even hold an air of amusement.]

"Hmmm... let's see- let's see. Gonna need a pan. Those are important, and... and some eggs. You need eggs to make eggs... oh and some of that... that yellow stuff."

"Of course you need eggs to make eggs, moron."

"Not a moron."

[She would bite back "moron"; that word came too easily. After searching through the cabinets, GLaDOS would eventually find some butter in the fridge, taking it out and offering it to Wheatley.]

"H-how about those little round cakes? Those can't be that difficult to make..."

[ For some reason or another, GLaDOS and Wheatley have been missing from the castle. They've had their share of adventures, and right now, they're coming back.

GLaDOS hasn't been doing so hot, really. She had caught a pretty bad cold during their expedition, and the entire time was a slew of total embarrassment and frustration. Well, most of the time. Which is a good 99.9%, if she were to convert it to numbers.

Currently, she was in Wheatley's arms, being carried back out of the forest where they had been lost and towards the castle. GLaDOS was quiet, her fever not exactly making her the most chatty. Despite the amount of sleep she had just gotten, she was still tired, her head throbbing, everything a spinning mess. To alleviate a sudden wave of nausea, she turned her head into his chest, closing her eyes.

She had been out of her element, with an idiot for the last while, and it was getting to her. Although he had been not really useful for a couple of things, namely finding a lake (promptly deciding to bathe in it and infest it with his grime-covered self) and getting them water (degrading her by making her say he wasn't a moron), the whole ordeal was most DEFINITELY not something she ever wanted to go through again. Never. Ever. Again. ]

... I hate being human. [ she groaned out, muffled by Wheatley's shirt. ]

[ GLaDOS was standing in the middle of her newly renovated room. It had taken her awhile to try this "wishing" process on such a large scale, but she found the results satisfying.

When she had opened her eyes, the former AI had almost felt like the was back where she belonged, ready to test. The only problem: she was still irreparably and terribly human. The wall panels vibrated under her touch, the cold tiles on the ground reminiscent of Aperture. She had of course left herself the necessities, like her bed in the corner of the room, and the bathroom adjoining still looked pretty normal, but the entire room was now cold. Devoid of anything overly human. Mechanical.

Just how she likes it.

GLaDOS hums pleasantly as she wanders to her production desk. Once, this half-complete turret shell was just a hunk of metals, but she had been working on perfecting it. Doing this manually instead of just commanding it from within the chassis was a lot more work, but at the same time, pretty satisfying. She was looking forward to testing it once it was complete. After giving it a little pat, she left her room, guiding herself with the make-shift map to the laundry room.

She had to pick up something.

After picking up the freshly dried lab coat, she made a beeline toward a certain moron's room, hanging it on the doorknob and giving the door a swift knock. She left right after; Wheatley might catch a glimpse of her turning the hall.

And so now GLaDOS is striding through the hallways. Feel free to bump into her. ]

[ Besides leaving her room for food, GLaDOS has been holed up in her room for the past while. If one could actually get in, they would see papers on every surface available, each labelled differently. She did vividly recall what her creations back at her facility were made of, but the problem was obtaining the materials. She had heard of 'wishing', but in her opinion, that was extremely ridiculous. Who knew if it even worked, and if it did, were the objects reliable? The former AI was still convinced that whoever had done this to them was toying with them, evidently, as it was scientifically impossible. Unless the technology really was advanced and had mind-reading capacities, but GLaDOS vehemently denied that as well. Even though she was human now, she still had a sense of pride for being the most advanced technology everywhere.

Right now, she's poring over her notes, unsure if she should even bother speaking to the residents. Eventually, she gives in, neatly writing in some filters. ]

[ GLaDOS is still not very used to eating. Thankfully, her human body is helping with most of the natural processes, but actually taking a bite out of something edible and chewing it was extremely odd.

So, have the former AI leaning against the counter for support as she takes a bite out of an apple that was in the fridge. Her yellow eyes are constantly scanning the room, and as much as she hates to admit it, being out of her room makes her a bit nervous. She's been so used to just staying in the same place for her entire life, that being a defenseless human able to wander around frightened her more than pleased her. The only upside was that becoming allies with humans would probably be easier if she looked like one, too. ]

[ Being human was definitely NOT one of this former AI’s fortes. GLaDOS can’t even begin to comprehend what’s going on – waking up in what seemed like a human bedroom in a HUMAN body was most decidedly NOT normal for her. ]

What is going ON… [ she mutters to herself quietly, as she tries to figure out how to move her almost sickly-pale limbs. ]

… I suppose you feel so much better about yourself after stuffing me into this useless body. [ she announces; she was used to her voice being broadcasted throughout the facility, and she was convinced she was still there. An obvious tinge of sarcasm coats her words, although they lack the robotic quality she was used to hearing from herself. ] I was on the edge of discovering a cure for the common cold. Or maybe something more fatal, like malaria. But now that I’m in this body, that’s gone. So think of all of the humans that will suffer because of that.

[ A pause. By now, she’s managed to figure most of her limbs, lifting her arms and curling her fingers experimentally. She only knows one person who’s probably active in the facility, but why would she do this? And how? Last time GLaDOS checked, Aperture’s labs didn’t have technology to reverse brain mapping. ]

You do know that I was going to let you go. But this is just ridiculous.

[ She hardly notices the open journal on her bedside table, instead continuing to practice her limbs. ]
