[Nora has finally decided to bite the bullet and go out into the snow. She figures it's probably going to be around for at least another month so she might as well do something, right?

Right.

So she's decided to try her hand at snow sculptures. Some might just make snow men. She got a little more creative with the idea. She's set herself up a fair distance away from the strange people under the light, not wanting to be disrespectful of whatever that's supposed to be. Humming softly to herself she puts the finishing touches on a shark heading straight for an unsuspecting snowman.]

((OOC: That's right, kids. Nora's making Calvin and Hobbes snowmen outside. COME JOIN HER! She, uh, may have put firecrackers in a few of them, too. So watch out for exploding snowmen.))

Hey, thanks. I thought so. What's the fun in just making a plain snowman? I had to do something more original.

[She grins] Thanks. I try to keep busy, you know? I like making things.

As do I, when I am able. [A small nod] I do not believe we have yet met. I am Galadriel.

[She smiles and walks closer, extending a hand]

Nora Diniro. It's nice to meet you. What do you like to make?

Well met. [Galadriel will shake her hand. It's still not her first instinct for greetings, but she's been in Paradisa long enough to be accustomed to the gesture.]

Oh, I weave, embroider, and sew. If we might extend this to wordcraft, I am fond of poetry and song.

I do a lot of sewing, too. I made a lot of my own clothes, back home. Can't say I've tried weaving, though. [She grins] And I definitely count wordcraft. I write poetry.

In truth, poetry and music are where my passions truly lie. The others are necessary skills, expected of any lady in my world, and enjoyable enough at times, but I do not receive the same joy from them.

That's actually how I got to know my boyfriend. Mark, he does the radio show on Mondays. Back home, before I knew who he was, I wrote him poetry and mailed it to him. He'd read it on the air.

[Not!secret: Galadriel is a romantic at heart and that little story makes her smile quite a bit.]

How charming. And how fortunate that you may take comfort in each other whilst you are here.

I'm real lucky, yeah. He was here when I got here. I think he'd been here about a month, something like that. [She smiles] We've been together about a year, now.

Have you been here long?

A year earlier this month, actually. It's so weird, thinking I've been here this long.

You have been here longer than I, then, though not not greatly.

Yeah? When did you get here?

Last March by your calender.

So only a couple months after I got here. What do you think about this place?

I think many things. Indeed, I have filled a great number of pages on it, though it has aided my understanding precious little.

To speak simply, I count the well meaning of those here as allies and I count the castle itself an enemy.

I agree completely. This castle definitely isn't our friend. It may give us things if we ask for them but look at everything it's done to us in the time we've been here!

It disturbs me how easily many here become complacent. Even disregarding the castle's more malevolent changes, I hardly consider any amount of creature comforts to be worth my freedom. I am no toy- no puppet to be played with and discarded at will.

Our mere presence here is an insult and an injury. I, for one, do not intend to forget it.

It really is disgusting. That's why Mark and I are constantly trying to get people off their asses, to think an fight back! We can't just sit back and let the castle do whatever the hell it wants. We're people not toys for it to play with.

[She'll just...graciously pretend that she didn't notice that language. The sentiment is one that she appreciates enough to ignore it.]

Indeed. The difficulty lies only in deciding a course of action- in discovering the castle's vulnerabilities and exploiting them for our own ends. This place hides its secrets well.

Yeah... I wish I could do more, sometimes. But at least I can make sure people don't forget and don't just sit back and let everything pass them by.

A task of greater importance than you may realize, for nothing will be accomplished if cruelties of this place are forgotten and its manipulations ignored.
