There are conversations about expeditions... I wonder, curiously, why there is so much waiting involved. There is no need to amass supplies nor food when the castle gifts it so readily, no need to search for patrons to fund the expedition, so why do people not simply pack up a horse and depart? Even women and children could travel easily, like this.

People from the future are terribly pampered.

I like how you use two other confusing words to explain one confusing word.

You understood friend. Same thing.

Why is it necessary to have so many words for the same thing?

Why not? Sometimes you're in the mood to say pal, sometimes buddy...

Do they not have different subtleties?

I think it's more the tone.

What is the different tones, then?

[This is silly. But silly is good.]

There's something like hey, buddy! which is nice and casual. There's also bud, if you don't want that extra syllable there. Then there's buddy in the I-am-about-to-kick-your-butt way, which I may or may not have utilized in Gotham. Then there's buddy in the annoyed, sarcastic way.

That just sounds weird if you use friend. Watch it, friend. Blah.

I would not have thought of referring to someone I would beat up or dislike as a "friend."

Jerk or meanie is embarrassing.

I like coglione. And bastardo and cacasodo.

One of those is obvious, but the other two sound like something you wear to smell nice and, uh...
