LUNAR FESTIVAL | DAY THREE | ELDERS & FIREWORKS DISPLAY

[Just as before, today finds two new figures standing in the courtyard. They are great figures of the past for some residents. Perhaps their stories can be shared?

In the city, people are talking rather excitedly about an event to take place in the evening. They say a great fireworks display is scheduled, and they can't wait to catch a glimpse of it. It's said to be an extraordinary show.

Will you pay patronage to the elders? Will you grab a seat for the show?]

[and for that she's kind of glad... but she feels bad for thinking that, so she'll just be changing the subject in 3....]

So! What kind of festivals do you have in your world?

[He shrugs, mostly because he doesn't remember going to-- well, there was that one.]

They had a big parade on Mars around Halloween. I don't know if that counts.

Oh right... [his world is all spacey.... so cool *^*]

It counts! But it sounds like you didn't go?

I passed through it on my way somewhere once. [Oddly enough, he decides to elaborate; he's awfully chatty today.] Parties were usually good places to find a bounty.

[ooooooooh watch her eyes shine] So you didn't have a job already?

That's how it started. I didn't cash in on it though.

[He died. That tends to happen a lot with bounty heads, actually...]

Aw, what happened? [;A;]

[There's a pause while he has a nostalgic moment... But he keeps it vague; only old men tell stories like that. Most of his are depressing anyway.]

Someone beat me to the chase. [He smiles slightly, then shifts his focus to their view.] When do the fireworks start?

[hm, she watches his face thoughtfully, the little moves it makes. She feels like there's more of a story there... but he's not the kind of guy who spills everything, so she won't pry.

Today, anyway.]

They'd better be soon! Or else I'll have to go give them a talking to!

[It wouldn't do his pride any good if she found out how terrible of a bounty hunter he was, in any case. Although that smile turns more genuine after her response.]

That should do it.

[aw, that smile makes her happy, and she grins]

You better believe it! No one lives to tell the story after Maya Fey tells them off.

Now I kind of hope they're late.

[hehe] Although... wait, who's actually in charge of the fire works?

[He takes a few steps towards the edge to peer down below.]

I don't recognize them.

[and of course Maya can't look down like a normal person, so she peeks like a ninja] Maybe they're towns people?

[He's still trying to get a look at... fireworks being set up. Not interested in spotting ghosts out there at all psh.]

Weird for them to put on a show for us.

Yeah... maybe the show is more for them, and we can just see it too?

I'd have to talk to them to find out. [Which he never does. Somehow native Paradisa culture never held his interest for long... and it really should considering how some of these festivals end.]

I'll help! Together we can crack the case.

[That earns her another smile.]

You probably don't even need me.

Of course I need you! Everyone knows that people work better together.

Must have been getting sentimental. [That definitely wasn't it, but it's still a little amusing to him to think of his old partners and anything involving teamwork. Which means he should definitely quit while he's ahead.

Smiling again, he slips his hands back in his pockets and turns back the way he came.]
