Haha yes. Have you never seen one, I take it? You can come to the stables. You can meet my Companion, Yfandes.

_{[He describes it and sketches out an okay map.]}

[A... lot later, because Konoe sucks at directions, there's a catboy on the path to the stables.]

[Yup... he kind of fails. (Shhh, it's a secret.)]

Well, welcome to the stables.

_{[He motions around with a laugh.]}

[It smelled of animals, which makes Konoe's ears perk.]

It looks interesting... we don't really keep beasts in Sisa. They're either small prey or giant monsters.

Huh, interesting. I am not sure what a horse might count to you as.

_{[Behind him a large white figure appears - Yfandes, tail swishing as she bobs her head at Konoe.]}

[His orange eyes widen at the sight of Yfandes, and he takes a step back.]

....definitely too big to be prey.

[But it was supposed to be nice, right?]

_{[Yfandes' eyes were warm and intelligent as she approached slowly and leaned her head forward, butting Konoe's chest gently with her mouth.]}

She says 'hello' back.

[catsong]

[Konoe carefully puts a hand on her neck and awkwardly pets a bit. Thankfully he can feel the calmness and warmth, so he relaxes again.]

...she's amazing.

Haha, she says thank you.

_{[Yfandes lipped at Konoe's hair teasingly and then butted him again, snorting.]}

[He continues to pet Yfandes, smiling as she plays with his hair. This was a really good experience for jittery empath cats; an opportunity to relax.]

You always know what she's saying?

Yes. She can Mind-Speak, basically telepathy, I have heard it called. She is not really a horse, though I called her that earlier - she is a Companion. She just looks like a normal horse.

...what does that mean? A Companion, that is?

[Konoe seems a bit confused. She only looked like a horse but was something else?`]

She is a special being in my world, and they choose the Heralds of the Kingdom of Valdemar.

_{[He watched bemusedly as Yfandes leaned into Konoe's touches, clearly enjoying the attention.]}

[He keeps patting her neck, smiling slightly to himself.]

She must be very precious to you.

_{[He smiled, leaning against her a bit.]}

She is my dearest friend, and a part of my heart.

...so what does one do with a normal horse? Or a guardian horse?

Well, normally they are kept for riding purposes, but some horses are used as draft animals depending on their size. Yfandes, here, I usually ride, though she is a guide and aid for me as well as a friend.
