Day One: Party!

[it's the summer solstice and a huge group of demigods safely made it to camp. This is clearly a good omen for things to come. The camp is alive with music and dancing. The satyrs are jamming on their lutes and the tree nymphs come out of the trees to dance. Everybody's invited!

The party will go on long into the night. It's all for you guys, so have a blast!]

I am. [A little nod here.]Well met, Henry. My name is Galadriel.

[This smile is so bright it could melt ice.]

Nice to meet you too! [om nom nom broccoli] Do you know if there's gonna be s'mores later?

I do not. [Pause] In truth, I do not know what "s'mores" are.

Seriously? [omg tragic.] Then we definitely have to have some.

[She laughs a bit.] I have learnt since my arrival in the castle that my world is...somewhat "behind the times," as they say. After over a year in this place I have learned many things, but I have much to learn still.

Oh! Yeah. [He leans forward with interest.] Do you not have electricity or anything in your world, either?

We do not. I have been told that my world is comparable to the middle ages of Earth, if that means aught to you. [She gives a small smile] Of course, it has also oft been compared to a fairy tale by those here I have told of it.

I know a lot about those. [Middle Earth, eh. He's getting more excited by the second.] Do you have magic?

[Ah, that gets an amused look.] Do you ask if there is magic in my world or if I may harness it?

Either. Or both!

The first I may answer with ease and certainty. There is indeed magic. The second is more difficult. I do have certain gifts. I would not call them such, but Men do often speak of "elf magic."

Gifts like what?

Put simply, I see much that others do not. [She gives a bit of a mysterious smile before explaining further.] I see much that is, was, and will be. I may also see into the hearts of and minds of others, if I so choose.

[And then there's the part later in canon where she essentially knocks down an entire building with her powers.... but she doesn't talk about that part much.]

So... [suddenly he looks WILDLY self-conscious.] You can read my mind?

[She's rather used to that reaction.] I could, were it my wish to do so. It is not.

[Aaaand there's the relief!]

Oh, okay. Um, thanks.

But don't you want to, sometimes? Just to see?

Of course. But with gifts such as mine, restraint is of the upmost importance. I do not intrude without either permission or great need. We are each of us entitled to some privacy, do you not agree?
