[After a lot of pushing and insisting about his leadership duties (mostly from Ed), Spike was motivated to avoid the cabin and do something aside from nap. Which is why he's currently slouched in the furthest table in the back of the mess hall.

It's hard to tell if he has a headache from thinking too much, or if it's just the nicotine withdrawal (they really are making it hard for him to be an addict here) -- probably the latter. In any case, Spike's got at least one thing on his mind that's bothering him. He's spent the past hour flipping through the journal to try and get a sense of something that suddenly seems a lot more significant.

Who knew it would take summer camp to get his attention?]

So what's the deal now? Instead of leaving for good, people wind up in a place like this with fake memories? ... Seems to be getting more common. [Sarcasm aside, not knowing if someone is dead or living somewhere... that's going to mess with his head for a while.] Something to look forward to.

[He's poking at the food on his tray while he mulls over his life problems. Which include the mush they're serving around here. It's enough to put anyone into depression.]

What do you think the odds are of getting a steak in this place?

Yeah, exactly. Plus they're kinda touchy feely bout the whole beef thing. Lots of bacon though.

Hard times. [Somehow he missed the pork when he was in line. Now he thinks they were hiding it out of spite.] I could settle for bacon.

[He wasn't actually stalking for once. Just looking for some shade and maybe some food, but there was Spike instead. And here he was weaponless. Inconvenient.

Since he can't take him out quickly, he'll settle for walking over, sitting down, and just looking at him. Ignore the orange tee-shirt and the sunburn. He's being menacing, really.]

[Spike notices him as soon as he walks in the door. (Not hard when he's wearing that... He must really be getting into the whole camp thing.) Shouldn't surprise him; they were going to bump into each other sooner or later.

When he sits down, Spike watches him a while longer before speaking up.]

Was this your lunch hour?

It was, but I suddenly find myself without any appetite.

[It's summer camp. That practically requires pettiness on his part.]

[Thinking this over for a quick second. He's not exactly a butcher, and most of his cooking experience involved burning up hunks of food with a blow torch, but desperate times... How hard could it be?]

She slides her tray over before apathetically dropping down one seat over from him. Her eyes are only mostly open, and her hair is a little rumpled.

Someone is obviously hungover.]

[He glances at her, maybe a little surprised that she'd sit near him by choice. But from the way she looks, she's probably not thinking too much about proper etiquette after shooting someone.

Of course he knows it's a hangover, but he's still going to ask.]

I was told that if you wish for it, you can get it. But that may be just at the castle, though.
