They merely see it as normal, I would assume. Did they feed thee the line regarding how 'tis merely an exchange of food and shelter in return for a little work?

Ponies - and humans - are quick to defend their way of life if they perceive they are being attacked - often without considering how they would react if the horseshoe is on the other hoof.

Would they be so quick to dismiss our concerns, I wonder, if we visited a place where simple-minded humans are traded and kept as pets and laborers?

Twilight Sparkle, I believe a campaign such as this would require more time than we have afore the chariot races begin. Perhaps a more reasonable short-term goal would be to simply prevent any forced participation in the races on behalf of any reluctant ponies.

And if they were to wish to race... [she shrugs] Unfortunately, advocating freedom means that we should listen to them - no matter how simple-minded we may think they are.

But Luna... it's so dangerous. Why is something so dangerous even allowed? [ You wouldn't let this take place in Equestria, rite? ]

The usual reasons, I would assume. Glory, status, the thrill of surviving a dangerous situation.

'Tis very much like thy friend Rainbow Dash or the Wonderbolts. The difference is that we do not force them to perform such dangerous tricks or to race - they only do so because they wish to. As for the danger, we limit it by having rules and many referees on hoof.

Well.... I can't deny that some of Rainbow Dash's stunts are dangerous.

[ But what happens when they find out that they use weapons during the race? THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT YET... ]
