["Camp" is over, and Sheena--for the most part--has settled in. If one were to call scouring the place for a way out "settling in" that is. And now, after that initial storm of activity, Sheena is staring at her journal--just as she has for the past day or so. She had initially ignored Colette's message--until the words of both the Zelos Message and her own Private message had finally sunk in. She had done some research and was now kicking herself for not trusting her friendship with Colette.]

She reaches for the book for what seems like the hundredth time, but this time, she takes it and opens it. Sighing, she reaches for the brush and ink; what she has to say is easier written than spoken--at least for her--since it allows her to think before speaking this time.]

[PRIVATE TO COLETTE]

Colette. You're not the one who should apologize... I am. I should have known there was something wrong, but I didn't even realize it. [She pauses and watches as the ink dries.] I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you regarding your message, but I had a lot of thinking to do [including that it may have been too late to save the friendship]...and I was afraid to respond. [The last is written smaller and much faster than the rest. Even writing, it's hard for her to express herself.]

But, yes, I'd like to meet up and discuss things. If you still want to.

[ooc: Sorry I didn't respond to your journal when it went up, but Nature hated me that day. And work was no better. :)]

[Putting the brush down, she waits for the ink to dry before closing the journal.]

[She's not even going to bother contacting Zelos. No, she'll "speak" to him when he gets back.]

She seemed nice. [Looks down at herself.] I feel a little guilty about these things after talking to her...

Yeah, I guess you're right, but if the castle can take, why can't it give that--then take it away when the person leaves?

I'm not sure... I don't think anyone really understands why the castle does what it does. It must have a very complicated reason.

You know... It probably does what it does because it can. If people can act like that--why can't this castle?

B-But that's not true. Just like I think people are mostly kind, I think the castle is the same. Just like any person, it's a complicated mix of a lot of feelings.

[Sheena regards her friend a moment before smiling. Sometimes she wished she wasn't always suspicious of people.] Sorry, Colette. Old habits are hard to break.

But, you may be right. ["May be", hell. She'd been right about a lot of people--including Sheena.]

[the maybe makes her smile :') she knows sometimes her views of the world can be... idealistic to say the least, but they make sense to her. It's nice when people consider them and don't just dismiss them]

I guess the only way to know, is to try and believe in people.

Colette, do you know how hard it is for me to do that? [She's serious.] Sometimes I really wish I could just believe in someone and trust them right from the beginning.

And not worry about being hurt by them.

Mm hm, I know it's not easy. [she drops the smile, so that Sheena knows she's taking this seriously]

That's why I think it's even more amazing and kind that you said 'maybe'.

No, it's not. [But Colette makes it look so easy.]

Oh. [She smiles sheepishly.] Well, traveling with you and Lloyd helped.

[ah... that makes her smile, really and truly]

I'm glad!

[And her love of kids probably also helps Sheena, although she hasn't quite realized that yet.]

So...ummm...Are you feeling okay now?
