I must say, if this is the afterlife, it's rather disappointing. Mother certainly wouldn't approve, although as I can't sense her presence, her personal beliefs about reincarnation - which for once I am inclined to share - were correct, or if this is something else entirely. I'm more inclined to believe the latter - it certainly lacks the vividness of a construct of my own mind. Which I suppose presents it's own little puzzle, as I should, by all rights, be dead. There does seem to be the signature of other magics about, too - unfamiliar forms, as well. Even more interesting.

[A small pause, and then-]
And to whomever has my cards - I wish you the best of luck in dealing with them.

I don't need the cards, though they're a powerful tool. And most kinds, yes. I'm unfortunately not a particually adept healer, for one. My best skills lie in manipulating the physical world.

Surprising, yes, but not scary. Exciting, more.

I'm Clow Reed. I assume there are places to actually live in? I seem to have ended up by the kitchens.

Of course! The castle gives you your own room.

Mm! This place is strange... but not very bad. I know a lot of people feel differently.

I imagine those with many ties to their own world would wish to return.

[amiable]

Yeah, a lot of people do... but they're always looking for a way back home!

I suppose it's not a bad thing to focus energy on, as long as you don't miss out on enojoying the now as well.
