[For someone who just showed up in a completely different universe, this young voice sounds excited. If someone were to see him, it would look like he’s talking to thin air, not realizing he’s being recorded. Surely Superman’s super hearing can hear him, no matter where he is. Mommy Lois did it before!]

Daddy Clark! Daddy Clark, I’m back, I got out! I don’t know how, but I’m not in the Phantom Zone anymore! I think it’s just me who got back... I don’t see any other rockets or people from there and I made sure to stay away from everybody else.

Uhm... [The slightest bit of worry and hesitation creeps into his tone.] I’m... not sure where I am. I don’t think this is Metropolis... There’s a really big castle and a little town nearby. Mommy Lois said if I ever got lost that I was supposed to stay in one place until you found me so I’m gonna wait here. And don’t worry, I haven’t used any of my powers! I’m keeping them secret ‘cause there are people walking around who can see me if I do.

Oh, I found this really cool book too! It writes down whatever you say! Maybe Mommy Lois can use it for writing her papers or taking notes when she interviews people.

[There are a few moments of silence as he waits for an answer. Then...] Daddy Clark...? You can hear me, right...? [The tone is growing increasingly worried.]

[he keeps his distance, just so he doesn't scare the kid, and he kneels down to be closer to his level.]

I'm younger. The guy you were just talking to is Cyborg Superman pretending to be me. Do you know about him?

[He shakes his head, pausing for a moment before speaking deliberately in Kryptonian.] Can you understand me?

[He smiles, replying in Kryptonian in turn:]

Of course, kiddo.

[Well. If he's speaking Kryptonian, he's got to be Kryptonian at least, right? So he relaxes a little more at that.]

... Why are you younger? Is Mo- ... Lois like that too?

Paradisa takes people from different points in time. It just happens to have grabbed us from when we're younger. [He grins, gently teasing:] It means we're not such boring adults.

But you know my name. If you're younger, how come you know that?

[Hey, his Daddy and Mommy are awesome, what's this about boring.]

Supergirl was here, and she told us all about you. We've really wanted to meet you.

[And here comes his loss.] Who's Supergirl?

[Confused pause.]

My cousin. Blonde, goes by Kara?

I don't know who that is... Or Cyborg Superman.

Ah. [Well.] Let's not worry about that, okay? [He offers a hand.]

What do you say we go see Lois?

[He still hasn't been completely won over yet, but for the moment, his gut instinct is telling him this person is okay. And he's Kryptonian... So after a slight pause of hesitation, he takes the offered hand.] Where's Metropolis...?

In another universe, right now. [He stands up, closing his hand around Chris's.] It's much better than the Phantom Zone, I promise.

We're really on a different world now? Not Earth? ... Or Krypton?

[He'll look down and scuff his foot against the ground a little bit at the mention of the Phantom Zone.] Anywhere is better than there. [Especially if you're there by yourself.]

Yep –– a whole other world.

[He looks down at Chris, sympathetic.]

I know. But we'll make sure you never have to go there again.

[Chris hesitates again, squeezing Clark's hand a little.] ... Promise? [He reaaaally does not want to go back there.]

I promise.

[That gets you more brownie points, for sure.

Chris looks around, taking in more of the surroundings as they go.] What's this place like? Do all our powers still work here? I really liked flying...

Yellow sun, so of course they do. [smile] This place, though? It's a magic castle. It has ghosts for servants and it grants wishes.

I thought ghosts were bad and scary things...

Can we wish ourselves home?

These are friendly ghosts.

And unfortunately, we can't wish ourselves home, or ask for other people. But we can ask for material things we need.

[Not that he's one for material items, but it helps.]

What about if I wished for something like... like... I wish my mom and dad would never hurt anyone ever again? Would that work? Or it's only material things? What if I got lost and asked for an arrow to show me the way back? [Questions questions questions.]

Only material things. [He ponders that for a second.] But if you were lost, it would probably give you a compass or a map...

What about my Zoo Crew watch? But without the red sun stuff in it.

We can probably get that.
