[Usually when Apollo doesn't see his husband for a few days it's because he's lurking around the town knocking out the teeth of anyone who dared to engage in criminal activity. So when a week went by without word, it didn't bother him. But as time went on he got increasingly more worried, until one day he decided to check for sure.

He really should have expected it. He's seen the way this place drags people in, only to eventually discard them. In time it was eventually going to be either the Midnighter or him. Selfishly, he just wished it would be him. A few hours later, after giving the news time to sink in-he wasn't brooding, he doesn't do that-he opens the journal to make the announcement.]

For those of you that knew him, the Midnighter has been sent back home. [There, short and sweet and right to the point. He didn't have the energy for anything more.]

I could use a drink. You in?

As much as I would like to join you in that, I think we shouldn't. It's not a good idea to scare people- trust me, I know. I was not very good at controlling my Gifts when they first appeared.

[They burned, they had burned so much, producing an ache in him he thought he would never be rid of. ]

But, I am glad you are handling it well as can be expected. She is too.

But not husbands.

[He sipped his drink again.]

Sorry, I don't mean to harp on it, when you want to change the subject. As I said, I'm just... concerned, is all.

I went swimming in the pool for the first time a few days ago.

I do not see how people swim in them. The water burns!

Chlorine? Is that what it is called? Why would you put that in water?

[Quite offended at this idea, mind.]

Why do you tease with icons like those? :P

Accidents?

[Not getting your meaning, Apollo.]

Poor Van, going to bed with that in his head...

[personal profile] peacockherald 2012-07-18 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[He makes a face, the fact that says he will never be swimming in that pool again.]

I think I shall stick to the lake then...

This is true, this is true. Wish I had a shirtless Van for you, Apollo

And there are certain things you don't tell a person!

[He shoves him lightly with his shoulder.]

Pshah

[personal profile] peacockherald 2012-07-19 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
In this case? Yes.

[He shakes his head and takes as wig of the cola with a sigh, smacking his full lips.]

What is this drink?

[personal profile] peacockherald 2012-07-19 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
No, I suppose not. No one has ever offered me one, so I have merely asked for what I know - juices, wine, water...

It is not bad. It is a bit strange though. I have never tasted anything quite like it.

Ah, no, I suppose not. Some people can make their tea this sweet, I know, but not this... bubbly? I suppose that's the word for it.

[He shakes the can and a hissing comes out of it.]

Or make such noises.

Do I want to know? Or should I just be satisfied with terminology?

[He chuckled.]

Fair enough.

What other treats do you have lying about that are new and exciting?
