[ino's pretty much just making her way out of the clinic and heading down the stairs to leave the castle. oh! but she'll stop to pop into the kitchen for a small snack before she heads back into town. an apple, maybe? or hmm, maybe a pear ... she'll just be pondering the many choices this basket of fruit has to offer]

Yeah, pretty much. [she'll make the apple rock back and forth a little with her finger, before she gives him an apologetic smile] Sorry, this got depressing, didn't it?

I don't mind. [That's usually all he thinks about. He's ready for a change.]

Well, yeah. Lots of friends. [she looks away kind of awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck] A few guys I dated.

[Now he should be the one to apologize. Seeing her withdraw, he places a hand close to her on the counter.]

[she shrugs] It's okay. It's kind of common knowledge, I think.

Everyone has a story. [He says it with a nod, but he's feeling like it's about time he changed the subject.

That's when he decides to risk it and ask.]

Do you want to go somewhere else to eat? I wouldn't mind getting out of the castle some myself.

[she looks a little surprised ...]

Why not? It'd be a shame to get full on fruit.

... [she's a little surprised he's inviting her somewhere at all, but -- it wouldn't be the first time she's gotten to know someone over a meal, so!] Sure, I guess. Did you have someplace in mind?

[He brightens up at that, putting the rest of the orange he had down.]

Not in particular. It's been a while since I've had a meal outside of the castle.

[she's also a little surprised at his expression when she agrees. she's getting a little suspicious, now, of his intentions, but ... she still doesn't see there being too much harm in it]

[she'll turn on her heel, then, and toss that apple in the trash on her way out] Though, what kind of food do you like?

I'm not picky, as long as there's some kind of meat on the menu.

I usually can't afford to be.
