[Dictated; Action for Crime Scene] Backdated a few days

[The moment he had been released from the clinic Conan had headed straight for the scene of the crime. He quickly busies himself investigating the scene. He fully expected that the evidence had been at least partially contaminated by this point, but he hoped that this assessment combined with Hattori's report would give him a useful analysis of the crime scene.

Eventually he moves away and retrieves his journal. He continues gazing thoughtfully at the body as he dictates a short message into the journal.]

Hello! I am wondering who was first at the murder scene. What did it look like then? Wouldn't it be useful to compare notes on that?

[Then he's putting his gloves back on and heading back to crawl around the scene some more.]

I saw the post, but it wasn't very clear on the details. Don't you think?

Not in the slightest, that's why I went down to have a look myself. But still, Chuckles was the first.

[Conan mentally shelves the question of that person's identity for now. He fully intended to inestigate it later.]

What did the scene look like when you arrived?

Like a murder scene. [Duh]

[But he'll add more]

The body was slumped against a wall, looked like it had been crushed- but by something with human hands. Massive head trauma, blood smeared on the wall from that, the face so crushed it was impossible to even try to identify. Nothing was taken off the body- no theft I could see anyway.

What was the state of rigor mortis at the time? [He doesn't ask about the blood spatter pattern. That was still clearly displayed on the wall.

...Neither does he consider that there might be any concern about having such a question coming from a child's voice.]

[Really Reno is so used to people like Shelke and Jr. he's pretty much assuming it's another older than your body cases]

Past the maximum, I'd estimate he died sometime the evening before.

Were there any witnesses?

Not that I've heard.

[ Because, there's been a murder. He knows exactly where to find Conan. ]

[And he would be right.]

[Renee seems to appear almost out of nowhere as Conan is addressing his journal. She walks over to the body and crouches down in front of it, studying it closely. Without taking her eyes off of it, she answers Conan's question.]

No one knows who the first person on the scene was. The one who reported the body did so through writing. No one seems to recognize the hand writing, or if they do, no one has said.

Oh? That's very interesting.

Has a time of death been established?

Nothing official, as far as I know. But the body can't be older than a couple of days.

[She pulls a pair of gloves out of the pocket of her coat and pulls them on. Once that's done, she grabs out of the body's hands and lifts it up, inspecting its finger nails.]

Doesn't seem like he put up much a fight. Though he might not have gotten the chance.

[He nods and pulls on his own gloves.]

But not recent. It is no longer in a state of rigor mortis.

[He crouches down and peers at the finger nails for himself.]

[She glances over at him with a raised brow.]

You seem to know a thing or two about dead bodies, kid.

I'm an elementary school detective. At home I helped Uncle and the police in solving many cases.

[He gives her an innocent look, which is only the more strange for how unaffected he is by the scene.]

They say that I am very good at noticing important details.

Elementary school...detective. [And she thought nothing could surprise her at this point.]

Exactly what are they teaching you kids these days?

I didn't learn how to be a detective in school. I learned from my distant relative and from Uncle.

A distant relative taught you how to be a junior detective? Man, and all I ever got from mine was a birthday card every year.

[As she speaks, she starts patting down the body, checking pockets and such for a clue. She locates his journal in one, but since he's already been identified, it probably wouldn't give them any other clues.]

[Meanwhile Conan steps over to investigate the pattern of blood spatter.]

Mmm, he's really famous detective who helps the police all the time. [Talking about himself like this never stopped being awkward.]

Like a real live Sherlock Holmes?

[When she fails to find anything else on the body she stands and looks over at him.] Find anything interesting?

Sometimes people call him the Holmes of the modern era.

[He's frowning over the patterns.]

Possibly. There is something interesting about how it spattered here.

[She snorts at that but doesn't comment further.]

Why is that?

[She could figure it out herself, but she is curious about how good this kid really is. She can't help but test him a little.]

Some of them are shaped oddly. Here. [He holds his hand over a far section of the wall.]

[She leans in closer to see better.]

I'll be damned. Now the question is what could make spatters like this. Too bad we don't have a blood spatter specialist hanging around.
