[ Katniss had told her about the journal. Katniss had also told Prim not to use the journal. Except that Katniss had gone out, just to the kitchen to get them some food. Except that Katniss was taking longer than she'd promised, and Prim was a little worried. She didn't like Paradisa, or the chance that something could happen, or had happened to her sister.

What if she'd left? Or something even worse had happened?

That's why when you hear the voice (she at first thinks she's just talking to Katniss) it's very panicked ]

Katniss? [ Pause ] Katniss? Where are you?

[ And then Prim notices that her words are all over the journal, which isn't quite as private as she'd thought ]

Hello? [ Pause ] This isn't just to Katniss, is it?

[ Oops ]

Maybe. I haven't met a lot of girls so I wouldn't count on it if I were you.

The rich ones do. [ Prim's thinking of the Capitol and how ridiculous everyone looked, but they did have makeup (and secretly she liked some of it) ]

[scornfully]

Rich kids! I'd bet that they're boring to play with.

I don't know. I've never met any.

Me neither. but I bet they're prissy, don't you think?

I don't know. They look nice.

Look nice, sure, but do they ever talk to you?

I've never met any. They don't live near me.

-- Well, me neither. They don't go to my school, either.

I think meeting one would be nice. They might be nice.

I Bet not. They're snobs.

Well. The ones I knew all were.

That doesn't mean they all are.
