I have some news that's ridiculously unimportant in the big scheme of Paradisa Announcements, but it's been enough years that I think I can be happy to say that I got a promotion!

I won't bore anyone with the details of why [ because they involve a death that happened awhile back and that's just a debbie downer ] but I've been acting as temporary assistant-manager at the restaurant for awhile now, and they were supposed to find a replacement. But the acting manager admitted to not wanting to be in that position, since they had originally just been assisting.

So I'm now officially the manager of Il Cappricio. ...Like I said, it's not a big deal, but I'm celebrating anyway. If anyone wants to come by the restaurant tonight, drinks are on me. I'll be here late finishing up the paperwork, anyway.

[Fred understands. But she also can't help but wonder if that's because they don't let themselves becomes as invested. Either way, she can't imagine Lana going after something she didn't want]

It's still a big deal. [Did you head how firm she is there?] And definitely worth a drink.

[Fred laughs softly too, something about the sound of Lana's spurring on her own. And she did come to notice that about heels, that last year working at Wolfram & Hart]

[After a while Fred presents herself. She's traded her lab coat for a wool one that's bottle green in color and belted snugly around her waist. However her hair is still twisted into a haphazard bun on her head and secured with a pencil.

She closes the door behind her and moves further into the warmth of the restaurant]

[ The restaurant's once again empty except for Lana, who's seated at one of the empty tables with some papers. ]

I'd accuse them of overworking you already, but somehow I think none of that paperwork is new.

Actually this involves the new shift in management, so it is new. What I did before didn't really involve that much paperwork, just enough to be annoying. It's going to be more now, but fortunately a lot of that I can do at home, and it's not difficult.

[Fred nods, taking that in. Then she moves to claim one of the empty chairs across from Lana]

So what all changes?

Really boring bureaucratic things. The end result is just me getting to sit down a little more often, but I have more hours. Which is fine, since I was only working part-time before.

I'm going to have to reschedule my sessions with Wesley, though...

[She has a hard time picturing Lana doing anything part time]

I'm sure he'll be willing to work around whatever schedule you need.

[Fred just hopes Lana doesn't stop them entirely. Oddly, it isn't one of the things she really discussed with Wesley. But she could tell those sessions mattered to him]

I was the one to push for more sessions anyway, so I doubt he'll care at all.

[Wesley cares about most things, even when he pretends not to]

Whatever you need, he'll do. How have they been going recently?

[Oddly enough it still isn't something the discuss much, any more than she shares details about her Friday's with Elektra]
