... anyway, I didn't say I was going to do anything. I meant you might slip in a milk puddle and break your neck. That would be fun to explain to your sister.

Ah, so the little blonde has a dark side.

Claudia would suspect something. I am not so clumsy that a spill would do me in.

I'm just cautious, that's all. But I guess you're right, if you didn't fall of the Eiffel Tower or trip over something when drunk.

Not crazy. Just confident.

How did you learn to do that?

[assassino]

My older brother, Federico, taught me. I always climbed for a hobby, but Federico taught me to do it with speed, agility, fearlessness –– he would challenge me to races across the rooftops, or to the tops of towers.

[Amused, reminiscing.]

When your pride is resting on your ability to leap from one building to another without falling to your death, you learn fast.

[She smiles, knowing how that goes. Sure, Bruce had a hand in making sure she didn't go splat on the pavement, but she likes to think playing tag with Cass is what really helped solidify her comfort on the rooftops.]

Terrors of the neighborhood? Your parents must have been thrilled.

There were many lectures, but I was determined to have as much fun as possible before I had to settle down into the family career.

They were lenient, though; my father was just as wild in his youth. I think Mother liked to see that in her elder sons, even if she didn't like our choices in, ah... outlets.

Certainly! Not that Claudia and Petruccio did not test her patience, but that is how the Auditore are.

I'm still not sure how she knew about everything that I got up to, though. I could stay out until six in the morning, get into fights, meet women, drink... and by time I climbed out of bed at nine, she would already know what I had been up to.

She laughs, though, glad her mom is pretty oblivious to her activities.]

Did you come home with bruises, covered in lipstick, and smelling like booze?

Only four.

Yes, and sometimes worse -- I once earned a gash to the head that could have killed me, but Federico and I stopped at the dottore before we went home.

And here I thought Italians just sat around eating pasta and talking about paintings all day.

[assassino]

I collect art, but it is much too boring to talk about. Pasta is good, though.

But I think you'll find us as varied as any other –– not that Claudia and I offer much variation.

In the last month I've met three Italians. If you guys keep popping up at this rate, I'm going to be super educated.

[He's tempted to correct her –– Lucrezia is a Spaniard, technically speaking, but he supposes she would have had to be very, very young when she came to Italia. Does it even matter? Nah, he glosses over it with a smile]

You'll be speaking Italiano and drinking wine with all your meals in no time, signorina.

And you'll be saying "cool" and not jumping at toasters... signore. [Aha. She remembers that.]

You just need to say it like it belongs in your mouth, not as repetition.

Of course it is, I grew up speaking it. But go on, try again.
