I'm sure everyone has noticed the new journals by now. Seems like we'll have a clean slate for this new year. I can't help wondering if this is a good or bad thing.

[River hums softly in thought for a few moments before resuming with her entry]

I have some important news to share. It has to do with the Doctor and I, but since I haven't yet gotten around to telling said news to my own parents, I'll settle for this.

The Doctor and I will be renewing our vows. That's right! There's going to be a wedding, preferably in the spring. When the Doctor went through his latest 'update' it seems he now recalls our wedding. The initial event was hurried because of circumstances beyond our control, so we're going to renew our vows and go through all the bells and whistles this time.

It's very complicated, this whole married or marrying thing. Believe me, he only just found out himself.

If I have things my way, the wedding will be open invitation.

Yes, I am. We worked together in a museum while we were in Paris, and I know his Fifth as well.

Ah yes, the museum. I know they both enjoyed their stint there thoroughly.

It only means all our past mistakes are now forgiven and forgotten.

I'm sure it was. Really, stuffy old museums don't appeal to my archaeologist senses. I prefer adventure and getting my hands dirty.

I hardly think it's that simple.

Maybe we'll get to do that next time. There was certainly a lot of hand dirtying on the expedition.

Oh yes, I loved the expedition! So much to do and take in, plus the bonus of fighting for our lives at one point or another.

River Song

You know, I'm a little glad we never compiled everything we learned into the journals.

But I hope we do soon, before we forget the details.

Well that's certainly one way to announce it.

It's just, I'm happy and there's so much to get ready if it's going to happen in spring.

[It's not something she felt she had to hide right here and now. There had been enough secrets between them to last a life time without adding this]

I suppose we could have announced it together, if you like.

Still doesn't mean he can't congratulate her though.]

Congratulations, I do believe are in order. Though whether it should be about you renewing your vows or him now knowing of the event, I will let you decide.

I think a congratulations on both would be acceptable. It's been a long road and he and I have quite often walked it in opposite directions. It's rather nice to be on the same footing for once.
