Fifty Second Sip
[Maladict had been thinking a lot since the little...family event. It had opened up a lot of old wounds, while at the same time parading things in front of her she always thought were 'silly'. Like getting married, she'd been dead against it, she'd even called Brock a fool for going through with the silly little ordeal. But now...
No. She pushed that thought aside, filing it away, to try and ignore it for a little while longer. Instead, she focussed on something far more prevalent. It had made her a teenager again. She remembered her teenage years as a thing full of fun and excitement. Of staying out late, playing chicken with the sunrise, to come home to her parents smiling proudly because their little girl had brought home dinner before bed. The sort of dinner that screamed.
It was very different to what she'd experienced in the reunion. Though the arguments with James and Helen were very much a mirror of her life later. When she'd picked up the ribbon. When, ultimately, she'd had enough of them trying to control her, to make her into someone she didn't want to be and had to run away to join the army to escape it all. She didn't appreciate having a reminder of that time. It even made her wonder if the way she'd acted towards her parents, her real parents, was as justified as she'd thought. Maybe they WERE just trying to make the best for her. And so, if a heavy sigh, she picks up the journal to dictate into it]
If you could relive any point in your life. Go try it all again, would you change anything, do you think? Would it give you a better insight into who you, yourself, are?
[Getting the opinions of the peanut gallery could sometimes be insightful. It was worth a try]

[It makes a lot of difference okay? He's not doing this to be difficult.]

Yeah. Sure. Think of it as a chance to just sit and watch your own actions, if you like.

And then there was Derek. He can admit he doesn't like Derek, but he also doesn't want him dead. And if Stiles wasn't around, the dude might not have lived. Hell, he might not have even dealt with the Alpha at all. Then where would they be?
Probably ignorant to the entire werewolf mess around them. Would it be better to be ignorant?]
No, definitely not. No changes. [Even if some aspects aspects really suck, they could always be worse.]

... Maybe.
It's hard to say. I can't change my own programming, though. So ... I'd probably just do it all again.
[he actually sounds kind of ... annoyed about that. really annoyed, actually.]

...Funny, I'd expect you of everyone here to be absolutely certain about it. Grander scheme of things, seeking perfection and all that.

Just backlash from that wonderfully happy little time we had living in family togetherness.

No. It probably wouldn't. But I'd still like to be able to go up to younger me and just...see if I really was being such an annoying pain in the neck.
