By my count there are at least a two-dozen resident owned businesses in the city and the castle. There are over a hundred city owned businesses that employ castle residents.

I'm pretty sure there are at least a hundred people looking for a job. At least half the population of the castle has wondered about moving out of the castle and I think employment is one thing that is stopping them. Mostly because there are a lot of options and not a lot of ways to figure out what exactly those options are.

If I set up some tables this Saturday in the ballroom, would people be up for a job fair? It's a bit... college weekend, but I think it might actually be an easy way to fix a lot of these problems.

[She taps her pencil on the edge of the journal.]

Alright, I'm just gonna do it. This Saturday, all day, in the ballroom there's going to be a job fair. If you have a business - come down and hire people. If you want a job - come down and find one.

If anyone can help me out with a flier and getting word out to the other businesses in the city - that'd be a big help.

I'm Jo and you can find me at the Lux. [Which is where she is. Sitting in a booth, trying to figure out what all she's going to need.]

If you can find all the dry erase boards that girl used for the date auction event? I looked in the storage for the ballroom, but I couldn't find them. She used them to write the date cards on them. It was a year ago, though, so I'm not sure where she would've put them.

[he pauses for a moment as he thinks.]

She ran a store in town -- maybe they might be there.

Who? No, the blond. The... not so smart one.

Oh. You mean Harmony.

[another beat]

I'll ask her and see if I can track them down.

Thanks! I thought I knew where they were, but I guessed completely wrong.

Well, Harmony is always known for ... logic, from what I've seen.

Really? Logic? Huh, I wouldn't have guessed.

She's not that bad, though.

Females do not often have 'jobs' where I am from. At least aside from serving wench or a whore. I am not interested in neither, but I am learned in reading in writing, though I fear that is not a high commodity here.

Still, I would like to find something.

[huntersdaughter]

[Whoa, girl. Ease up on the words to build low self-esteem.] We kinda lean away... far, far away from using words like whore or wench these days.

I own a bar and so I have bartenders or servers. They're women and men, nothing wrong with either one. And you'd be surprised how many people can appreciate someone who can read and write.

I'm looking for someone to help me with a flier, if you have good penmanship, you could help me with that. Then this Saturday, you can pick and choose from all the people that have job openings.

I meant no offense by it. Many have made a living from it. [She does not understand the negative connotation to it.]

It is something I have no experience in. [She was highborn after all, both as a Stark and Lord Baelish's bastard.]

My penmanship is fair, yes. I can write in the book if you wish to see it.

I know you didn't mean anything by using those words, but these days they're not the most pleasant terms. Women can do whatever they want to support themselves, emphasis on what they want, not what they're told.

[She'll pause and look at the handwriting and that is... very fancy.]

That's really lovely handwriting. Why don't you come down to the Lux, it's on the first floor, toward the back - and you can see if helping me with the flier is something you'd want to do. I'll pay you for your work, too.

I will be mindful of it in the future. [Not that Jo can see it, but she nods.] I have been told of such things. It is... a strange concept. There are some women that strive for it back home, but even Queen Cersei was told who to marry, made to bare heirs. Though I suppose given who the father of her children truly are, she showed them.

[It's about twenty minutes later when Alayne arrives, her dress simple for her, but still that of someone who looked like she walked out of Ren Faire.]

[One of Jo's best friends is Gwaine, so her manner of dress doesn't even make Jo flinch. She smiles and offers a wave, standing up from the booth and moving to greet her. She offers her hand to shake.]

It's nice to meet you in person, Alayne.

[ He takes a seat across from her and leans over to read her journal entry. ]

[She shrugs.]

I'm tired of working seven days a week.

I've told a couple of newcomers about the job fair. Do you need more people working for you at the Lux? Or at the Gallery?

[huntersdaughter]

It'd be nice to have more for both.

The art gallery is smaller, but it's just Nina right now. At the Lux I've got Bonnie, Max, and Steve. That's not exactly staffed.

I told this girl Kenzi about the Lux. She's new to the castle so maybe she'll be interested. Seems like she's got the attitude for it. [ He lets out a smile. ] Don't look so stressed out. If you're still short-staffed after the weekend, I can always help out.

[huntersdaughter]

[She offers him a smile.]

You already work at the clinic. I've managed short staffed for over a year. Another few months won't kill me. [ha! she's already dead. :| yep.]

[ Not funny, Jo. ]

Well, I just don't want you overworking yourself.

But I guess asking the ghosts to help out is out of the question.

[huntersdaughter]

[She gives him the "are you serious" look.]

They already help people who wander in when we're closed. I'm not about to let them take on shifts when I'm actually here.
