I think some of those other losses people go through might be a part of it.

That would make sense as to why people have them at all.

Yeah, a friend of mine mentioned that the castle takes things for energy--like memories--when you get here, so if you wish a lot, then it might need to take something temporarily to replenish it.

Yeah. So, the more people wish for, the more energy needed, so more things are taken.

There's a comfortable thought to lull you to sleep at night.

Isn't it, though? All you can do is control how many wishes you make. If it isn't too many, it shouldn't be a problem.

Unless the castle decides to just not plain like you one day.

Hate is a powerful emotion. Maybe it gives it a big boost of energy or...whatever.
