1/017: And if I lay her down to sleep; I look to science, her soul to keep.
[Wheatley is lounging about in GLaDOS's room, doing his best to try to keep the psychotic woman from murdering all of you her relaxed. As time consuming as a job like that is, he finds himself to be incredibly... well, lonely. Especially when your only company can barely keep a conversation with you because of the voices tormenting her mind. His voice sounds absolutely exhausted and out of breath. This guy hasn't slept in days...]
D-do you want to know what's really difficult?
Making friends.
And-and I don't mean those fair weather types you humans keep talking about. Wh-what are they called again? Acquaintances? Right right, that's it.
...I mean... well, actual friends. Don't know how you humans can have so many.
And...
[Give him a moment as he slowly inhales, to try to get a train of thought going. All he could think about was sleep...]
Would any of you know any... uh, suggestions... for helping people... wh-who might hear voices in their heads? Maybe? A friend of mine can't sleep and she's...she's... really, really having a hard time here.
GLaDOS:
/ACTION/
[He's sitting on the bed, raising his head to see her laying beside him. The man looks like death. His sunken eyes having a permanent purple tinted circle around them and he hadn't bothered to brush his hair in days. You're killing him, GLaDOS.]
I... I'm going to ask anyone... if maybe there's a way to help you.
Chell:
Uh... love? Love are you busy?
I could-could use your help here.
I-I don't suppose you've ever done any care taking?
CC:
Okay... I've thought about it! Long and hard! L-Let's make a deal.
You...stay away from me.

Wheatley; ACTION!
Although his words... made her pause. She seemed a bit anxious all of a sudden, hands trembling. ]
... Why? I'm- I'll be fine. Don't tell them. They'll think- they'll think I'm unstable. [ she said, stilted. She was having trouble formulating sentences, having trouble coming up with coherent thoughts. ] They'll think I'm crazy. Which I'm not.
Actiooonnn;
I won't tell anyone your name or anything, love. You'll be completely anonymous.
[He slouches a little to make it easier to brush his hair back. It was the slightest bit of relief for these volatile times.]
W-we... we can give it a try. W-won't hurt.
So much action it will knock your socks off. 8'|
... Mm. But promise you'll sleep. [ she let out, distractedly. She didn't really want him to- she wanted him to continue keeping her company, considering he was partly the reason why she was so calm at the moment, but as long as he was with her... She would roll on her side, finding that the easiest position to continue stroking his hair. ] At least a little while.
and then it will knock your feet off. :U
[At the end, his words trailed into barely a sound at all. He wished she hadn't pushed him down, as pleasant as the head strokes were... He didn't even have the strength (or desire) to push himself back into a seated position. He had to stay awake for her... but he could fall asleep right there.]
And then you will not have feet, nor socks. :'<
I'll be fine. I'll stay here with you... [ she reassured him- and really, without the energy to do so, she was lazy enough to just cuddle into him the entire time. ] You don't have to stay awake with me.
[ Although she really, really appreciated the sentiment. No matter how temperamental she got, in her exhaustion. ]
I'd have no choice but to sit and tag some more.

[A thoughtful pause.]
It just started happening, mate. Tried everything... tea... music, even covering her ears for her. Sh-she hasn't slept in days... and neither have I.

I can get the GLaDOS to threadjack a little bit later when she comes online too. :')
B-but... I can try uh, to get her to speak to you, no doubt.
[There's a little shuffling as he stands up and begins walking.]
...A-Are you a doctor?

Carefully she read the message, brows furrowed. She wasn't busy. And what did Wheatley mean by caretaking? And someone was hearing voices? Hmmm. She picked up the ever-present pen and wrote back in response.]
I'm not busy no. What do you want? What is care-taking? I've not done it before. But I could try.
How would you feel about a massive 4 way thread with You, Glados, the curiosity core and I? xD
Why was he writing? Perhaps it was to prevent another voice from being heard through his journal. After all, there was a chance that Chell would deny his offer if she knew who he was talking about.]
'It's better I come get you.
She doesn't like the noise.
I can explain on the way.
Where are you?'
That is wonderful! In short, heck yes!
1808... And okay. I'll be waiting for you.
[And true to her word, she'd be standing like a statue, just on the other side of the door.]
Yes! xD
[There even was a little smiley face scribbled messily at the end to prove that he really didn't mean any harm by this. He wouldn't have usually asked anyone for help in this situation, but the entire thing was getting unnerving. Slightly unbearable. One more day without sleep, and he would be sure to loose it. Besides, Chell did say something about being GLaDOS's friend.
His logic was unmatched.
When he reached '1808' his knock was gentle... it was how he looked which was slightly terrifying.
He stood at a stoop, eyes sunken and shaded with a permanent circle of grey. He had dreadful bags under his eyes, and frankly... he looked like something out of an undead horror movie. He tried to brush his messy hair back and press the wrinkles out of his clothes, but not even he could muster up the energy to do that.
Give him credit. He still was trying to keep a goofy smile despite himself. ]
H-hey! I... sorry for just popping up on you like this. Out of the blue. No warning or anytihng! I... It's a bit of an emergency is all. Couldn't tell you before... f-for reasons.

Uh... W-well! She tells me they're loud. Very loud... s-speaking to her? S-sometimes she can't hear what's going on around her and it... it keeps her awake at night...
[He sighs and sounds a little desperate.]
F-for goodness sake, it's been days since she's gotten a lick of sleep...

[He's more interested in information than helping, but in this case those two might be one and the same. Especially if this is some sort of loss, because guess who hasn't figured his out yet?

Thanks for the suggestion mate, but I'm going to try cutting into her brain when she falls asleep! Figured it's better when she's sleeping since she'll be more still that-that way.
