[Her hands rest to the edges of the journal, placed in her lap. Seated outside in the center of the city, she's found a lovely spot to rest near the fountain. Every so often a breeze sprays water onto the journal, but a delicate touch wipes the spots away. Her hair is pinned atop her head, helping with the warmer weather, though she still dresses in the slightly formal attire.]

I feel as though I am missing out on so much having come from a time that not many are familiar with.

Which is why I present this question: If you could travel back and teach someone something that was vital for their existence in the present day, what would you show them?

I would like to learn these things. I feel that it would assist me, so that I may not be the girl constantly with her mouth drawn agape when something is revealed to me.

Believe it or not, it's meant to make our lives easier.

I have been told this, but it is still difficult to see it this way.

I guess it has to be something you're raised with.

What about computers? The Internet?

I am afraid that I do not know what those things are.

It's like ... a lot of books and information all compiled into one place, so that people can access them anywhere.

That sounds very useful. Though, how do people know what would be interesting to read?

They don't. And there's no way you could read everything, but at least it gives you the option to try.

It seems a heavy task for just one person.

[imnot_likeyou]

It's a machine more than a person.

[eternityalone]

Another machine? Much like the microwave and an automobile?

Just like, actually.

All of these things intending to make lives easier and I still feel that they provide much more complication.

I'm used to them. So in a way they do make my life easier.

Perhaps that is the difference, then. Everything takes time to become commonplace, I suppose.

Once you're used to them, you can't imagine life without them.

I look forward to a day when I can say the same, but it does not seem to be something soon for me.

They say practice makes perfect.
