[Spike really isn't doing great today. After what happened with Arya, he's in a state of hurt confusion, and so he'll turn to the only creatures who he KNOWS will have an answer to this.

...Or rather they would have an answer if they weren't the Princess who was dumped on the moon for a thousand years and the unicorn with only a small array of social skills. Oh well. It's better than nothing]

Guys, I've got a problem. What do you do when somepony who thought was your friend not only says they don't want to be your friend any more, but also that they never thought you were friends in the first place?

[That done, he'll just continue to mope around the library, wondering what went wrong in his life]

[You know what Spike looks like he could use?

A pouncing.

Nepeta's just the troll to do that. She's hiding behind a stack of books, waiting for the right moment to strike.]

[Pouncing would certainly bring some joy in his life again.

He's still just mooching about, putting books back, sighing occasionally. Unaware he is PREY]

[Then that is just what she'll do!

Out from behind the stack comes Nepeta, leaping into the air and tackling him to the ground.

BOOKS EVERYWHERE!!]

[SCREAMING. Because he is the manliest of dragons]

[She rolls off of Spike to give him some breathing room, sitting up to smile at him.]

Hi Spike!

[huffythedragon]

[Give him a second to recover from his heart failure. He relaxes when he sees who it is though]

Oh. Hi Nepeta.

[That's weird. It looks like Spike and sounds like Spike, but this baby dragon seems a little... off.]

Is everything okay? You sound like someone who just spilled all his milk.

[huffythedragon]

Oh...I'm okay. I guess. I'm just having a tough day.

Do you wanna talk about it?

[huffythedragon]

It'll be okay, I asked my pony friends.

Not that they had any real answers...

[She frowns, pulling up a stack of books to sit on.]

I'm not a pony, but I am a friend. That's half as good!

[huffythedragon]

[He considers, then takes a seat beside her]

Well, do you know a lot about how humans deal with friendship?

[rogueofheart]

[She scoots herself closer to him for comfort]

I like to think that I've become an expert of sorts in my time here.

[huffythedragon]

Oh that's good. Because...say you though you were friends with a human, right? And then you had an argument and they said they were never your friend to begin with.

...Is that what they usually do?

[rogueofheart]

[She frowns at the thought of anyone saying that to sweet little Spike.]

Well, you did say you were having an argument. Maybe they said that beclaws they were upset?

[huffythedragon]

You think so? So if she had time to cool down she wouldn't really mean it?

[rogueofheart]

It's a possibility. It's something you would definitely want to approach carefully. Not like, "Hey, I know you didn't mean it so let's be friends again!" Some people don't like to say they're wrong, or they don't know how to take back mean things they said. It's just how they are.

But... I think yeah, if you give your friend some time to cool off and think about things, they will come around again.

[huffythedragon]

Okay, so I should just leave her and see if she comes to me? [Like taming a puppy. No don't think that, that's wrong.

...Or very apt]

Exactly. Friends always come around again. Sometimes they just need a little space, and that's okay.

[huffythedragon]

Okay. I'll try out the giving her space thing. I sure hope it'll work.

It should! Absence makes the heart grow fonder, too.

[huffythedragon]

I sure hope so.

[rogueofheart]

Don't worry, Spike. [She leans over and gives him a one-armed hug.] I'm sure everything will work out fur the best!

[huffythedragon]
