~~Dear Diary~~ Hey, funky castle-people. Whaddup? I have to say, I'm surprised I've managed not to wind up in some kind of trouble recently, so I'm sort of waiting for the other shoe to fall on me, crushing me like some kind of Kenzi-bug.

Things need to be done. Trouble needs to be gotten into. Or, you know, we could just pretend to get in trouble and wind up drunk and passed out on the lawn. Good times, people. Why aren't there more people passed out on the lawn? Come on, man. There are horses and jousting and damsels and I'm willing to bet there's a dragon somewhere.

If I'm going to be stuck in a castle that sucks your brain, I want to get my brain-suckings worth. Plans? Suggestions? Bueller?

[She laughed, giving his ear a nip before following it with another soft kiss]

Give me a reason to want to go to the springs after, Kittikins.

[Then she slid her hands free and moved back, giving him a wink before turning and heading off into the woods]

[Oh, he could get used to this!]

Because I'll willingly wear a Speedo. Just for you.

[Wait, what? He opened his eyes in time to see the wink. Looking around to see if they were being watched, he followed her into the woods. He was almost positive he could hear giggling]

Mmm, I like the sound of that.

[The giggling might have come from her, or it could have come from any of the small, winged creatures flitting around.]

That's all hoping we don't get eaten by a dragon first.

I can't promise I'll wear it for long.

[Damned fairies. It didn't help that Kenzi had a very pixie-like voice of her own]

You had to mention the dragons again.

[That had her turning around and giving him a very wicked look]

I like the sound of that even more.

That's if there even are any.

[He raised an eyebrow at her, innocently]

I was hoping you might.

You do realize that since you've said that, it's a sure thing that we'll be eaten?

Are you trying to tease me with the thought of you in speedos, then the promise of playing with what's hidden - barely - under them?

[She gave him a fluttering of her lashes]

Nuh uh. I'm too scrawny to eat.

Barely? What are you talking about? It's supposed to be the thought of me in Speedos. At first. [Pssh!]

[Now it was HIS turn to get the wicked look]

I didn't have any problems.

Barely. Well, they don't hide squat when you're all hot and bothered.

Oh. [Oops?] Well thank goodness you're the only one around to see, then.

[He'd bow, but it wouldn't be modest - instead, he pinched his thumb and forefinger together and ran them across his mouth like he was closing a zipper]

I'd better be the only one around getting you that way.

[That might have been a huff at the thought of someone else seeing anything that was for her eyes only.]

You're a brat, you know that? [But she kind of liked it]

Believe me Kenzi, you might as well be the only other person in the whole of this place.

[LIKEWISE. Only about her]

[He smiled angelically at her, but remembered to keep his mouth shut]

Uh huh. Suuuuure I am.

[She levied a finger at him, then turned to go back to heading into the woods.

And after three hours of fruitless searching, she had to concede that there were likely no dragons - at least, not in the nearby area.]

I have never looked at anyone else. Nor will I.

[Complete and honest truth!

He followed her willingly the whole time, but even he was puffing by the time they were finished searching. He was almost - ALMOST - disappointed. But not enough to want to keep looking]

That's it, I'm done for, Kenzi. Can we go home now?

You'd better not...

[Mumbled more to herself than to him.

And she leans against a tree, sighing as she realizes their whole search was fruitless]

Fine. Fine. We're done.

[He didn't hear it, but even if he had, he still wouldn't look at anyone else]

Great. [He collapsed dramatically to the forest floor, spread-eagled, to prove his point that she'd killed him]

[She laughed, kicking an acorn over to him and rolling her eyes]

You are such a drama queen, you know that?

[He rolled over to look up at her, beaming]

I wouldn't be me if I wasn't.

Now I feel like getting you a tutu and a little tiara.

They would clash with my coloring.

Hardly. I'm sure we could find something sparkly and froo-froo'y enough to suit you.

Oh, I've already got all that covered. [He beams happily at her]

... Explain yourself.

Well... it's not sparkly, but I think the outfit I've chosen for the ball might possibly match your idea of 'froo froo'.

Oh yeah? You've already picked somethin', huh? I think I might actually be looking forward to seeing it.

[She grinned and waggled her brows, then nudged him with her foot]

C'mon. Let's head back to the castle and get something to eat. I'm starved.
