[ Uru knows all that. She's lost so many people she's come to love here over the years. She's going on three years now. She has a great life back home and fallen in love, only to be brought back here without warning.

But she's not angry at the castle. Sometimes... maybe. But she doesn't see a point in staying angry or sad when she can focus on the brighter side to things. ]

It does good things. It's hard to see... but there's lots of good if you look closely.

[Ino don't give him that look. He winces a little, and at least has the forethought to look slightly guilty over his comment, before shrugging and glancing at Uru]

I guess I haven't had much practise in looking for he good in things.

[Then, because he really doesn't want to upset Ino] I'm glad for the people it's given me, but it all seems to be delaying the inevitable.

[well, that's slightly better, anyways ... she'll lean back on the bed, crossing her legs]

If that's all you can think about, then you'll definitely be miserable. In a place like this it's better to live day to day. [she understands, really, she does -- it's why she ran away a year ago, why she was hesitant to date gale ... because she knows, inevitably, everyone will leave. but she can't stand to be alone, so what other option does she have?] Otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy.

[ She gives Once-ler a worried look. She definitely knows that type. ]

Mm! You can't let yourself be sad all the time. If you do, then you'll miss out on the happier things.

[He'd like nothing more to reiterate that her doesn't DESERVE the happier things. That he gave up his chances for that when he tore the valley to pieces to further his own needs. That he deserves every single second of sadness and misery the castle can pile onto him.

But he knows that doesn't work on Ino. And Uru...well, she doesn't know the extent of his past life yet, and he'd rather not share that right now]

Sometimes you just go with whatever's most familiar to you.

[And being alone, regretting his life, hating every single damn action he'd ever taken, that was what was familiar to him]

[she's silent a moment, sipping at her cocoa ...]

It takes time to learn the other ways. [she knows why he's saying that, and she doesn't mean to tell him that he MUST act a certain way RIGHT NOW. but she knows if he gave it a chance he might be able to have a better life here]

You don't have to do it alone. [ She smiles at him. ] That's Ino-chan and I are here for!

And we're back to the sunshine and rainbows. Yay.

[He is grateful, though. Even if he's not quite sure how to show it yet]

[she'll grin] Oh, come on. You love the sunshine and rainbows.

[ ... ]

You're too mysterious, Once-ler.

[That gets a sideways glance. W.A.T]

Mysterious?

[she just grins] Uru-chan, that's just how he says "Thank you".

[ She's never met anyone who preferred to hide indoors. Maybe Hagiwara? ~~... Is Once-ler going to push Uru down the stairs?~~ No, I kid. ]

I'll figure out Once-ler one of these days! It's a promise.
