[ Anyone Looking for Accommodations in the City Royale ]

[There's an address written in.]

Rent's paid through next month. Take it, I don't care. Landlord will be thrilled, I'm sure.

If there's more than one of you, settle it yourselves.

----

Quite the entertainer, our Paradisa. Parties and festivals and carnivals and balls. Don't know how you're not all sick of them, they happen frequently enough.

[He doesn't sound that bothered, though. In fact, there's a distinct upward swing to his tone. Someone's in a good mood for the first time in a long, long while.

There's a pause, and his voice starts to wander like he's splitting his attention.]

Still, can't complain. This one has the potential to be decently interesting. Ah, excellent.

[There's faint hissing in the background, from what sounds to be at least two or three of the fairies.]

Oh, be quiet. That's hardly the worst I could have done.

They are tedious, and frankly, I've made it a difficult position to fill after me, so I don't know why they keep trying.

[and there in lies the power. Whoever kills her and takes her place will be hated so completely by half the country, it's wonderful.]

But it's more irritating when they insist they'll go to heaven for killing me. That gets repetitive far more quickly. You can't reason with blind faith.

Clever enough to cause wars, how does that sound? [Damn whoever had been pulling Phillip's strings. She doubted the man was clever enough to come up with such a plot by himself.]

No, it's not. But such is the difference between kings and common men.

[she's trying not to sound so arrogant, really.]

Or really, it's the similarity. Both have to fight in the end.

Indeed in my time, but believe me I have been made well aware about how irrelevant my time is.

[she laughs though.]

But the comfort to me, is that your time is irrelevant to me. I don't think I could stand it.

[The difference is crazies aren't shunned. She needs torturers as much as she needs pretty talking ambassadors.

Walsingham is a pretty mix of both, courtier and spy and torturer and assassin. His services rendered are untold in value to her. Pity you're not one of hers Sherlock, she needs someone constantly hunting plots, and making them up in equal measure.
]

By many, I am told so. I am also however considered archaic as a queen. Given to most of you it's been a good four hundred years. [she's not bitter.]

Oh I've heard, and yet the English keep their queen. [there's a note in her voice that finds that faintly sickening.]

... Another thing I am mercifully glad does not exist in my time. But your gossips are so much less inspired. My detractors like to say I consort with the devil in my spare time.

[mercifully for her country, Elizabeth hasn't much care for that sort of thing. Just that people do what she says when she says it. It's very simple really.]
commandsthewind: (Uh-huh | you'll be forgiven once)

Whilst I am sure my advisors have many interesting and varied activities they keep in their spare time, the running of hell is probably not one of them.

Very.

But I've got to commend their imagination.

I guess they don't change very much? Must of heard it for awhile I imagine. But it does make for some interesting illustrations from time to time.

... I think you might have to, such things have never been spoken of to me as of yet.

[Keep guessing Sherlock, you'll work it eventually.]

... I can honestly say I don't like the sound of that at all. [Lying is just part of what she does, daily.]
