[the day of the party has arrived!

right around dinnertime, fairies will try to round up every single character and gesture, lead, or pull them towards the courtyard. there, the miniature castle has finally been completed! there are fairy lights and beautiful singing all around you, and it looks like there's some kind of a party going on in the castle, but...

...but it's still so tiny. how could you possibly get in there? it would be hard just to get your hand through the front door!

but the fairies will persist, and as soon as a character steps into the fairy ring...

they find themselves in the ballroom.

[Pepper has acquired a glass of wine and is sipping it very carefully. She moves through the garden with gentle ease, her dress being held enough to keep the train from dragging through the grass. It's really quite peaceful and she wonders if it will last.]

[ Tony moves by her side, nursing his own glass of.... something alcoholic. But it's a ball, not a real par-tay, so he's holding back. No drunken shenanigans tonight. He promised. ]

You know, this is more impressive than I thought. [ He pauses for a beat. ] For something so rustic, I mean. And put together by Tinkerbell and her merry men.

[She's expecting something horrible to happen, but for a change she's not expecting it to be at the hands of Tony.]

I'm sure the fairies would be pleased to know that you're satisfied with their party capabilities. [Her brow furrows.] I'm still not sure this is going to end well. We were all physically altered just to arrive here.

[builds]

[ Tony almost looks thoughtful. But his tone is the same semi-smug completely-irresponsible tone that he always uses. ] You have a point. And I don't want to think about having my suit sent out when I'm like this. [ Not sure how well a guided, automated suiting up system would work when... yeah.

Actually, he is sure how well it would work. Not well.

Although..... the suit itself might end up taking out the fairy's castle. That might require some thought. ]

[Let's not think about genocide via Mark VII, please?]

Let's not think about the suit at all. Just for a night. [Her hand goes to rest to his wrist lightly.]

We've been shrunken down and forced to remain in a miniature castle, can we pretend to not be thinking about just how this could go - at least until it does go horribly awry?

Pretend? Sure, I can pretend. I'm great at pretending. [ He looks over at her and smiles. Genuine. Or at least it looks genuine. ] Especially if I have good company to keep me distracted.

[If there is a frown on her features, it is short-lived as he smiles at her. She knows it's genuine, even if it's brief.]

I am highly capable of keeping you distracted. I just wouldn't drink too much of the fairy wine.

[ Tony looks down at his glass. Then over at Pepper. ] Define "too much" for me, please.

[There's a face there. He knows it well.]

It's not as flexible as a definition as you'd like it to be.

I'm just saying, are we going by current standards, or regular standards? I don't think I could be drinking as much as I usually would. At this size, that would be, what? Sixteen hundred glasses?

[You cannot use 'I've been shrunk.' to adjust your drinking capacity.]

I think at this size the drinks are still the same proportion to you.

Message received loud and clear. [ Though it's not like he was actually going to hit up the drinks like that. What with that whole thing they're pretending not to think about. ]

[Oh, who is she kidding. She waves over a waiter and attempts to take two glasses off of his tray.]

Just hold it. Don't... don't offer it. [Her hand gestures up, trying to get him to just ignore her so that she can take the glasses instead of being handed them. Finally, when the waiter seems annoyed enough, Pepper is successful and she hands one to Tony.]

This one doesn't count.

You know, he was totally trying to hand those over. [ then, he speaks as he takes the offered glass. ] I think you just out-lawyered your loss over semantics.

[Her gaze narrows slightly. The narration needed her to get the drinks, don't take away my creative work-around.]

I'm just that good.

[builds]

Oh, yeah. Completely. Color me impressed, really. [ Siiiip. ]

Shush. [Her lips purse slightly, giving him a glance.]

This is still an odd event. The physics alone... I'm sure you're trying to figure it out.
