008 Summons ❈ Dictated ❈ Backdated to Masquerade Day Two

[First it had been an invitation, now it's fairies. Unlike a few of the others, Sheena, for her part, is enjoying their presence. She's been playing with them, and helping them as they moved objects that had been too heavy for them.

Now, they're playing with her hair--well, styling would be a better term--and the occasional pleased chuckle could be heard over the journal before she says:]

Are you sure about this one for the ball? [Several high-pitched giggles can be heard--along with a delighted laugh.] Okay! Okay! You win! I'll wear it like this!

[She now addresses the journal properly.]

I don't know what people are talking about. These fairies don't have fangs! They're nice and pretty playful! Not to mention helpful.

[Suddenly a loud noise comes out of nowhere.]

Are you all--

[She cuts herself off with a hurried closing of the journal.]

Sheena?

[Will she even hear him if she closed her journal?]

[Several minutes pass before she opens the journal again. There's a strange chattering sound behind her.]

Yeah?

[So calm, isn't she?

[shrugs_a_lot]

[Huh, takes him a bit by surprise. But it's alright, if she didn't reply sooner or later, he was going to look for her later.]

Are you alright?

Always!

[ninjainviolet]

Yeah, I'm fine. Some of the fairies were playing and they knocked over a lamp, that's all.

[A pause.]

One of them didn't get out of the way fast enough, though.

[shrugs_a_lot]

What happened to it?

[ninjainviolet]

The lamp fell on him. He's okay, though.

Just a little shaken up.

[The chatter behind her are the others expressing their concern]

[shrugs_a_lot]

Hmm...

Are you going to the ball?

[ninjainviolet]

Yeah, I am. Are you?

[shrugs_a_lot]

Yeah, maybe.

[eatsfire]

[... Well, that was weird]

Oi! ... You okay?

[ninjainviolet]

[Not really. Not when you find out what happened.]

Oh. I'm fine!

[eatsfire]

Are you sure?

[A little suspicious - though amused because this is a little like deja vu] Sounded like somethin' happened.

[ninjainviolet]

Yes, I'm sure. A lamp fell on one of the fairies while they were playing.

He's okay, though. He's sitting on my lap calming down.

[No, she didn't fall down a hole again.]

[eatsfire]

Ah-

[Worried now, definitely worried. He really likes the fairies]

Good he's alright, that must've hurt 'cause they're so tiny.

[ninjainviolet]

[Ah, for that bit of concern, Natsu, you get some cheerful chattering from all the fairies--along with a smiley face drawn by one of them in the journal.]

Yeah, that's why I left the journal so fast; I was afraid he had been hurt worse than he was. [Unseen to Natsu, she looks at the wounded one.] You can stay here as long as you like, my friend. All of you can.

[And for her concern and welcome to them, she got a real-life smile from the fairy on her lap. Smiling in return, she still can't see why people say these folks have fangs.]

[eatsfire]

[Aw, the smiley face makes him smile in turn, and he searches for something before clumsily drawing a face back]

Gotta be more careful little guys! [But he doesn't sound too chastising]

They're all pretty cool, huh? Never thought I'd ever see a real fairy. [They're kind of a legend of sorts, unknown if they're real and all that, where he's from]

[Delighted laughter and Sheena's own soft chuckle can be heard when his smiley face appears.]

That's sweet, Natsu! I think they really like it! [Several happy nods in her direction.]

Yep, they do! And they agree with you about being careful. [Several of the fairies had already "yelled" at the one in her lap when they realized he was okay.]

Don't you have fairies back home? [She doesn't, really, but one of her summons is a trio of beings that look like them.]

Yeah because that sounds really nice and playful. Playful like a man eating tiger.

[And the journal opens again.]

Sometimes things get out of hand when people are playing, Once-ler.

Out of hand how?

I think they were playing hide and seek, and the lamp fell over on to one of them.

...Did they die?

[ninjainviolet]

Nope. He was only shaken up. He's sitting on my lap right now, calming down.

You really think it's wise having one of those things in your lap?

[ninjainviolet]

[Several fairies--plus one ninja--glare at the journal because of that comment, Once-ler.]

He's not a "thing" he's a "he" Once-ler.

And he's perfectly safe where he is. I won't let him fall.

[At least she's hoping that's what's concerning him.]
