008 Summons ❈ Dictated ❈ Backdated to Masquerade Day Two

[First it had been an invitation, now it's fairies. Unlike a few of the others, Sheena, for her part, is enjoying their presence. She's been playing with them, and helping them as they moved objects that had been too heavy for them.

Now, they're playing with her hair--well, styling would be a better term--and the occasional pleased chuckle could be heard over the journal before she says:]

Are you sure about this one for the ball? [Several high-pitched giggles can be heard--along with a delighted laugh.] Okay! Okay! You win! I'll wear it like this!

[She now addresses the journal properly.]

I don't know what people are talking about. These fairies don't have fangs! They're nice and pretty playful! Not to mention helpful.

[Suddenly a loud noise comes out of nowhere.]

Are you all--

[She cuts herself off with a hurried closing of the journal.]

[She tilts her head as the silence grows, and is about to see if he's still there when he speaks.]

[He considers not answering her. Just closing the journal and leaving her wonder forever]

...Yeah. I know someone like that.

[She doesn't pry further. She just sighs.]

I guess every world has people like that, huh?

Any world where there's a power system can have people like that.

A power system? You mean like a King?

You don't have to be a king to be in power. Sometimes, you can just be in the right place at the right time.

[Said in a tone that maybe she does, but wants to confirm her suspicion.]

[Actually, she wasn't prying. She's just unsure.]

[Regal was a pretty powerful man.]

Regal owns a mine, and he's the head of a huge company.

But he's not really a bad guy. [Unless you want to count killing someone to save them.]

He thinks he's a bad guy, but he really isn't.

Maybe you just haven't seen him doing really bad things yet.

He killed someone who had been turned into a monster, but he felt so guilty that he turned himself in and vowed to never use his hands to fight or kill again.
