[The journal picks up quiet musings from someone as he talks, along with the sound of books being stacked on top of one another.]

You would think they would know better, it is not so difficult to put things back where they belong when they stand right next to the shelf. Though it would be more understandable if they would purchase something.

[Grumbley half-elf is grumbley. And a beat.] Unless someone changed the open sign to closed again. [Who does that, really?

Though after that the sound of a bell comes through and he's off to take care of whatever customer of his happens to have come in.

Later in the day however he can be found going from his book store out to various other places in the city, stopping for food or other small things one does after work.]

[Martel is actually in town today, for some reason or another. She isn't paying much attention where she's walking in the streets, though, and has quite a few close calls before she finally bumps into Elrond.]

Oh, I'm so... [She trails off. Wait a minute. Pointed ears? Did she just run into an elf? How much trouble is she in?] Ah, sorry.

[Oh that's alright, because he wasn't paying much attention either and reaches out to steady her, even as he takes a step back.]

Things happen, and I apologize for not stepping aside. [And he's quick to hide the ears, because it's weird in town with them okay?] Something troubling you?

Oh, you don't have to apologize for that! [Hiding his ears and the apology made her less fearful that she was about to get shouted down. But, he wasn't from her world, because she couldn't sense a mana signature. Then maybe he was from Galadriel's world? But she would have heard about that before this.]

No,I have always lived here. Though the city is large, it's not unheard of for one to not know everyone that lives here. Where are you from?

[Well there's this guy here, sitting in one of the armchairs with a pile of books balanced on the arms, reading away and has probably been doing so for awhile now. Cause you know, reading in the library sure gets a lot of interruptions. He'll glance up when he speaks, but on the whole doesn't pay a whole lot of attention and goes right back to the book ]
