Whatever the hell this was stole all the booze.

[she was behind the bar when she passed out, which meant that these things probably climbed all over her. gross. this is why she doesn't sleep.

I mean we are currently a dry establishment. I came to and there wasn't a drop in the place. And since the castle was out cold, I'm going to venture a guess and say whatever knocked us out was the one that took it.

[shrugs]

Either that, or the castle is taking a stand against alcoholism. I wouldn't be surprised if it was, but I kinda doubt it.

[Jo groans. Not that she doesn't mind the distraction, but this isn't exactly what she wanted.]

If you want to talk to the local brewers... [Her fingers pinch to the bridge of her nose.]

The Death Match probably got hit too. It's gonna be a while before we can even get a reserve back up and I'm not going to wish it up. I'll see what I can figure out in the city -- is anyone looking into this?

If you can handle the castle end of things I can handle the city side. I think Reno's running the DM, so if you want to ask him about his stock - if he knows any of the suppliers in the city - it could help us split the gap between now and whenever we have a better stock.

I'll see if Steve can handle redoing the menus until we get things settled.

You know I can take care of myself. [There might have been a boast here about how it would take more than nightmares to get him down, but now is not the right time for that.]

I'm more concerned about what spooked you. [He won't ask just yet.]

I know you can and I'm grateful for the help while I'm taking some time off. [She'll skip over what has her staying away from the castle.]

[And Jo talks with Max and comes back.]

Hey, can you see about making up some temporary signs that say we're out of alcohol? Apparently, we've been robbed clean.

Jo ]

... Are you telling me someone had the nerve to rob us while we were- [Not the point. Steve exhales audibly.]

I'll take care of it.

It was pretty castle wide, from what I hear. Alcohol, candles - who knows what else. City was clear, which makes me just want to make everyone move into my house.

jo ]

In an hour or so. [ At 6PM. He's got the morning shift tomorrow. ]

Or -- as soon as I get this paperwork done.

Can you come by the house when you're done? [She hadn't actually talked to him about what happened with Sam and she's still not sure she wants to, but she knows it was the castle which is why she's just not focusing on it.]

I'm taking the week off from work.

Sure, I'll drop by. [ He had been planning on heading over to the Lux to look for her so he could invite her over to have dinner with him at his place, but this works. And since Jo hadn't mentioned anything about the weird stuff that had happened at the castle recently, Chase simply assumed that, like him, she hadn't been affected by the nightmares. ]

You okay? [ She's taking some time off from work? That doesn't seem like her at all. ]

chase ]

[huntersdaughter]

I'm fine. [A beat.]

Actually, no, I - [She's not entirely sure how to even explain it.] I went into work, or tried to at least, but ended up asleep - like everyone else.

It wasn't a good thing. I just, I need some time, I need to stay away from the castle for a bit.

jo ]

[downright]

[ He's got a love-hate relationship with the castle alright. ] Okay. [ If she wants to, they can talk about it when he gets there. ] I'll be there as soon as I can.

chase ]

[huntersdaughter]

Thanks. I'll see you soon.

[She'll shuffle around, talk to Steve, and then spend the rest of the day on the couch with the dogs and a blanket.]

[ Chase knocks on the door to her apartment at half past six in the evening. He's bought sandwiches for dinner and a pie for dessert. ]

[huntersdaughter]

[The dogs head down first, barking at the knock at the back door, and Jo follows soon after. The blanket left behind as she moves down the stairs and opens the door for him, using her knee to keep the dogs inside.]
