2nd Abnormality

Hello fellow residents. For those who don't know me, this time around, my name is Helen Magnus and I have a...request.

For the past few weeks, more than that actually I've been...
[A pause while she collects herself and reorganizes her thoughts]

I suppose this is best put bluntly. There is a young woman, twenty three years of age. Approximately five feet and six inches tall, blond hair and blue eyes. She is of slim build and, I must caution, a less than temperate disposition. She answers to the name of Ashley, she is my daughter.

[The writing it not the neat scroll usually accompanying her text, nor is the voice smooth and controlled. There is an edge to her that suggests...well, it just suggests.]

[...Oh. Oh this isn't good. And James sounds worried as he answers this, on top of sounding tired. This month just wasn't good for any of them, was it?]

Ashley isn't here, Helen.

She shouldn't be, there is no logically reason for it, I know. But...I've felt her, I've heard her voice. James, I would not have broadcast this without good reason.

[There's a faint note of desperation in her voice.]

[Don't tell him that, Helen. He's already feeling guilty about his castle induced nightmare, on top of Nikola's issues, on top of Mal's issues.]

Yet we haven't heard anything through the journals, [he thinks. He's only been paying attention for familiar voices.] and surely she would have found either of us by now.

Unless she can't! James people here are brought from states of life or death, we don't know exactly what happened to Ashley. She could be here and not know how to communicate or she may have suffered damage to her memory, she might be wandering lost and alone.

[unnaturalpause]

[Before going on with this, he writes in a filter. Because he doesn't need their argument broadcasted over the journal.]

No, Helen. From what I was told, she couldn't have survived what she did, and arriving here, you end up as you were before death.

I am, have you seen any sign of her?

Unfortunately I can't say that I have, Helen.

[There's a note of sadness in her voice]

If you do though... I cannot express how important this is to me.

[hullo_sweetie]

I'll keep an eye out for a young woman matching your description.

...are you certain she's here?

[Yes, that's definitely concerning. The small signs- the writing, her voice- it's something that the Helen she knew or knows would not ordinarily have allowed.]

I had not noted her arrival. [A slight pause.] Are you quite well?

I don't think she would have arrived by normal means.

[An equal pause and sigh.]

I feel as though part of me has been ripped away.

I know you do not yet know me well, but I would offer you an ear all the same. I believe I may have a bottle of wine to spare also, if you would care to join me. [Which is her quiet way of saying that she's worried.]

Talking would be helpful, the drink I can do without, I'd rather keep what wits I have about me.

[Oh, you humans and your ability to get tipsy without emptying an entire bar.]

You are welcome to visit my quarters, of course. Unless you would prefer to meet elsewhere.

[Hmm... after reading the other replies, he finally decides to toss up a filter of his own.]

If I happen upon her, I will be sure to send her your way, madam. ... I apologize, as I've little place in asking you, but are you quite alright?

[This was a new connection, Helen paused and considered how much information she was spilling openly about herself, before she answered.]

If I can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to ask anything of me. At the very least, I am willing to lend an ear.

Alright, in your time here have you seen someone arrive and the castle not designate them a place? If she is here I don't know where she'd be, she hasn't contacted me or posted in a journal.

I am afraid I will not be of much help in that regard, as I've only been here for over a month.

[He might have suggested that she would be somewhere in the city, but he can tell she's clearly distressed, and he has a feeling doing so would only exacerbate the situation.]

If your daughter is indeed here, then I am sure that she will be found. We've many kind souls, here, and if she is incapable of sustaining herself, then someone will help.

Perhaps it would be best to take awhile to clear your mind. The parent is the stabilizing force for the child, after all, and taking the time to calm down may also allow you to get a better idea of what you should do.
