[Sprawled across an armchair in the Music Room, Brook plays a slow, melancholy song on the violin. His journal lies open nearby--intentionally; he wants to be heard, and not only by anyone who might be in or around the Music Room--and it's only when he's quite through with the song that he speaks up.]

Pardon me, but I have a question. What sort of opportunities are there around here for musicians? Are there performing venues, or perhaps people hiring live music? I have quite a good ear for it!

Although I don't have any ears--yohohoho!

[And he returns to playing.]

[Oh god. It's that skeleton thing again.]

How the hell do you hear anything if you don't have ears?

dictated as well!

Yeah, and you're not great at givin' answers. [Ah well. It's not like Brook is out to get him, so Rictor lets it slide.]

Is the violin thing something you learned before you died, or after?

[Interesting.]

You must be pretty good at it then. Ever do group stuff, or are you more of a solo person?

[A skeleton on a pirate crew. Sure, why not?]

And you all sat around and sang about beer?

Most people aren't.

So you were a pirate, huh? [That's kinda interesting.] You do any of the raiding and fighting and other stuff pirates do?

....Didn't know pirates had kings. Does he get a fancy crown if he becomes the pirate king?

Dictated forever

Edgeworth has this music group thing going on. It's okay if you like your music to sound like someone is beating a bag of cats against a wall.

All you need to do is leave a filter to Miles Edgeworth and he'll no doubt get it.

Dictated forever and all that jazz

Does that song have a name?

[Because it was really good!]
bustered: (it's love that i'm sending to you)

I like it. It's a little sad, but it's nice. [Of course, that could just be the choice of instrument, but that's beside the point.]

Takes all types, I guess.

I'm a soldier -- well, used to be.

[The dead sort ;; ]

Well... we were just called SOLDIERs, but we were kind of... I don't know how to describe it. Enhanced? Stronger, faster, more resilient than normal humans. We were the guys you sent in when you needed a little more power, I guess.

[Oh, violin. It's nice to hear another, even if it's hard for him to be anything other than endlessly critical.]

Adequate.

[He says it crisply, like a correction.]

You'll have to give me more incentive than that.

[There's not so much bite in his tone, though. It's something he likes talking about.]

A more impressive sample, to start.
